Just noted that I come up as Tiverton also... I am in Portsmouth... we use the area in question often.

I live in Portsmouth, I do not know why it says I am from Tiverton. Never lived there in my life

This area is for recreation. We do not have much areas for recreation now. And you want to take more away.

Ellen, I have looked at the maps, the proposed location is not good at all. I have written a letter to CRMC. I am not sure I can make the meeting, hoping my letter of objection will suffice. How can this pass with such little publication? Don't we, a tax payers, have a say in the matter? I will be more than happy to send you my letter if you would like. Maybe you can take it with you to the meeting? If I can make it I most definitely will. If you would like to send me your email I will send it to you.

Paige, If you look at the maps, it protrudes off shore at a 45 degree diagonal, blocking the use of the shore line once you pass the dock.

Hi Beth, I stumbled across this in late October and opposed it. I was notified of the meeting, this coming tuesday night at 6pm at one capital (the admin building) due to my opposition. There are published maps that indicate an oyster farm is at Sandy Point, I thought public comment meant we actually have a hope to reverse this decision, but I am feeling defeated unless others step up and attend the meeting. 3.2 acres is huge. More than a football field. It is currently marked with bouys but when I asked the applicant oyster farmer for the exact coordinates he keeps giving me multiple emails to dig through and I still can't find them making me believe it is not the exact location of the farm and it is much larger than marked off.

We will all hope that Rhode Island politicians do what is in the best interest of our children instead of outside interests.

Why has this not been discussed?

This is a recreational area. Sailing lessons, kayakers, boaters, private moorings...not a good spot for the oyster farm.
