The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has asked for suggestions and objections on the PUNE METRO PROJECT from citizens (up to 14th August).
Key points of the proposal include:1.It calls for provision of 4 FSI for developments within 500 metres on either side of Metro.
2. The 4 FSI puts a tremendous amount of pressure on infrastructure for Water, Electricity, Drainage, Parking, Garbage etc.
3. If the 4 FSIis not used within 5 years, citizens in the affected area will be penalized and will have to pay cess every year up to 5% of the Ready Reckoner Value.
4.The density of the population of Pune will increase greatly, making Pune an overcrowded city.
5. The Vanaz to Ramwadi route has the LOWEST ridership and the metro construction aims to commence from there.
6. The Metro project is estimated to take about 10 years for its completion.
Honestly, can you imagine driving on Karve Road through the construction for the next 10 years?
7. The Pune Metro Project and its proposed 4 FSI is not a minor modification in Pune's infrastructure.
As you all can see, the Metro project is clearly not a solution to Pune's ever increasing traffic. Hope all of you agree! All we need is YOUR SIGNATURE to OPPOSE the Pune Metro Project and its proposed 4 FSI.
The plan is honestly not uselful at all. If they could utilise the money to repair the decripit state of PMT's in Pune, it will be a help to all the citizens who depend on the buses daily. Also, Pune is a sml city which is already facing population struggles, how do they intend to pump in any more ?? Where is all the so called "infrastructure" coming from?
