Falmouth does not need a large Marriot Hotel. The increased traffic will only make traveling down town even more difficult. Preserve our town and the small town feeling we all cherishe.

Having just returned from a "Coast of Maine" tour, it is clear to me that Falmouth remains one of those charming towns with character that is hard to find. Please do not support this Marriott project on Main St.

Please consider more appropriate development paths for Main Street in Falmouth other than this disruptive proposal. There are more appropriate site options, for example. The larger issue is how we define the character of this town and determine the appropriate boundaries for growth and development. We want to retain and nurture a feeling of community and be part of this process. Your job must be to facilitate this and base your judgements on a sensible representation of what is best for the community and the people who call this place home now. Not for the short term but for the long term.

Although I support appropriate commercial development in Falmouth, this project in no way aligns with the "master plan" that keeps our main street unique and at a proper scale for the community. Indeed we are dangerously close to our main thoroughfare being no different from "route 1" in any northeast commercial town. The focus should first be on upgrading existing commercial properties (Falmouth Inn, etc). The long term vision of this developer, as well noted by Troy Clarkson and others, does not have Falmouth's best interests at heart. We trust that our Board of Selectmen and the Commission will show appropriate leadership in this case

It is the character of our town that will be damaged by the addition of a large hotel. We DO want to improve that end of Main Street - but this is not the way to do it!

I oppose this hotel for every reason mentioned in this petition. It does not suit Falmouth, it's charm, or visitors image of the community. The plan also fails on an environmental level and endangers the neighborhood.

There is no place for the Marriott on the Main Street of our town. The size is not appropriate. The traffic , the noise the disregard for the neighborhood , Lantern Lane and Nye Road . The whole of the down town. No Marriott on Main Street.

I do not believe that this is a good fit for Falmouth. That are is already a traffic nightmare. It will also be yet another large "chain" to hurt the small "mom and pop" businesses.

The Marriott appears to be actively trying to deceive the Cape Cod Commission and the Town of Falmouth. In light of the information from Troy's column regarding the Marriotts' involvement with the Mariner Hotel, the project is potentially more expansive than the Marriott is admitting to. It's regrettable the Marriott chose deceit over collaboration. For that reason, they should not be welcome in Falmouth, or anywhere on the Cape. The Cape Cod Commission needs to reject this inappropriate and fraudulent application.
