Oppose the conversion of 1140 W Wilson Ave for Cornerstone's expansion

We must come together to determine a better solution.

Didn’t we just add a shelter at Irving Pk & Marine Dr?

This just seems shady. Millions of tax payer dollars for a shelter that will hurt an area that alrwady has 5 shelters. It seems like a way for city officals to misuse tax payer dollars.

Home owner in the neighborhood. No thanks.

Please reconsider this potential project. Two great businesses are currently on the ground floor and expressing concerns. Uptown has lost too many small businesses that help the neighborhood thrive and make it a great place to live.

I'm opposed to this convention.

This organization does not have a good history of providing safe and reliable services.

There are already enough of these facilities within two blocks of each other. They need to be spread out more and not between two local businesses

No! Just no! Support local business trying to make the neighborhood good again!

Why is it uptowns responsibility to have the highest amount of shelters? Why can't Lakeview or Lincoln Park add a new shelter? What benefits are we getting from taking over commercial space on one of the fastest growing strips in Chicago?we do not need this at all.

For the sake of the community and local small businesses in the area we have to stand up and not let them destroy our community.

Stop the madness! This is ridiculous!

We already have so many. This is not immersion if it’s concentrated in one neighborhood.

This zoning variance is both unfair to the businesses and the shelter users, as both will have great hostility for each other.

It's taken so long to see this stretch of Wilson come back to life. We don't need or want another shelter here. The new alderperson seems hellbent on returning Uptown back to the days of Schiller.

I oppose the additional shelter in such a concentrated area that has struggled to develop a thriving business district that benefits the entire community. Another location can be found.

This is a completely inappropriate location for a shelter.

Totally opposed to this. I have lived in Uptown for 43 years and this is terrible for the neighborhood.

I have great concerns about using this TIF money to rehabilitate a building that is not in need of rehabilitation, the location of this proposed shelter, and the organization that has proposed this project and their business practices. I want to see more support for individuals experience homelessness and support Bring Chicago Home. I do not developing another shelter in this exact location is the right move. I do not believe that our Alder has addressed these concerns.

I love that we are helping our neighbors, but other neighborhoods should help as well. How is it that nearby neighborhoods like Lincoln Square, Ravenswood and Andersonville don't seem to have any (or few) shelters? Why are they concentrated in Uptown? I'm also concerned that a proposed shelter would be on top of a bar. The noise & traffic don't seem to be conducive to helping folks get back on their feet. Finally, listening to residents' concerns about the potential landlord is important. This just doesn't seem like a plan that will help Uptown grow and thrive.
