Oppose the conversion of 1140 W Wilson Ave for Cornerstone's expansion

Enough is enough. We enough homeless in the area. This will make the area is not safe since a lot of drug dealing going on.

This will affect the neighborhood. Not in a great way

Please tell me there is someone left in this city with common sense. This proposal is a stab in the back to business's and residents who have been trying to rejuvenate Wilson Avenue for the last 40 years!

This doesn’t seem to be a well-thought plan. The points made here are very valid.

Please please do not allow a shelter in such an up and coming area. Please do not concentrate the ward's specialty industry of running shelters any more in this area.

I am a 46th ward resident and oppose this location for this shelter.

Alderman Clay, Uptown has been the victim of a concentration of this type of housing since the Reagan Administration cut funding to the mental care facilities here, thus causing many of those individuals to be released into the streets, unable to fend for themselves. I do not need to give a history lesson, but for years we have been trying to redistribute the focus of these housing projects from this neighborhood so that Uptown does not have to bear the brunt of the side effects of supporting them. When I moved into Uptown there was a similar housing project close to this area, which attracted a lot of gang activity. I personally witnessed 3 people take bullets from my front window inside my home. This type of violence almost caused me to move from the area, but with the efforts over the last five years or so this had been all but eliminated, in part due to NOT having a concentration of this type of housing. I implore you, not only for the good of the neighborhood, but for the good of those that would be in this type of housing, please STOP this from being allowed in uptown. Another Chicago neighborhood that is not already supporting such a concentration of these projects would be better able to assist them in their transition and become self-sufficient. Adding another of these degrades further our neighborhoods ability to support what we already have here. Let us recover and continue to grow as a neighborhood to get away from the bad dangerous uptown that so many still remember. Adding this project to our neighborhood is like seeing a toddler who has just learned to walk, and then throwing a stick into his pathway for him to trip over making it more difficult to keep his balance and continue down a path of progress. Thank you for your time.

Please please please stop over-concentrating poverty in our neighborhood.

Please listen to the neighbors who do not want this shelter in an area desperately in need of businesses.

Addressing the issue of finding homeless people warm and safe places to stay is important. But for the reasons outlined in this petition, I agree that this location in the Wilson business district is not good for residents, business owners, neighbors. It is my hope that Alderman Clay and community leaders can find a more appropriate space to address the needs of the unhoused.

Wilson Ave is finally recovering; Uptown doesn't need this.

even having sympathy for migrants, i cannot find what goid taking in an overflow of them will do. i live near irving park and marine dr. and the homeless are selling drinks to the migrants at the shelter. my concern with the homeless tents is they attract drug use, fights property damage, fires, litter, and public safety concerns. please do not allow tents or more shelters.

We do not want this in the neigborhood. It took over a decade to recover from Helen Schiller the first time. Do not let Clay destroy the progress we've made. Let another neighborhood take on the responsibility. Uptown has done enough.

This needs to NOT happen to save the growth we have made

Angela Clay is in the employ of the tax paying...property tax paying...law abiding 46th Ward CONSTITUENTS WHO PAY HER SALARY. Thus..she is obligated to act in the best interest of her EMPLOYER. The Safety of the 46th Ward is her core responsibility.

It’s really sad to see that uptown time and time again takes over a majority of the Humanitarian help the city offers. At least on the north side. My concern here is that changing the zoning and allowing residence like this to exist, will continue to perpetuate the SRO housing that leads to slumlord situations. And people who are already living below poverty standards are treated worse.

Angela Clay is ruining buena park

I have lived in Buena Park for 15 years and we are being overrun by drug users criminals and drug dealers, many of which come from the Building, which Angela Clay supposedly lives in 869 w Buena.

I am opposed to the placement of this program. It is a fraud on what the community wants.

I oppose this development. The corporate force behind this effort has a history of poor follow through. The supposed letters of support for the project show the levels of deceit behind the effort to push this through.
