the school claims that exposed stomachs, shoulders, legs, and bra straps are distracting, and will then turn around and hold a ‘dress like a tourist’ or ‘dress like a hippy’ day. the double standards are unbelievable. dress codes are inherently sexist and do nothing but cause harm. there is no conclusive evidence proving that dress codes improve academics. a bra strap is not something that needs to be regulated. an exposed stomach is not something that needs to be regulated. the administration sends people home for wearing ‘immodest’ clothing but doesn’t bat an eye when students show up wearing shirts with guns or MAGA hats, an article of clothing containing a slogan that is used to promote hate, violence, and white supremacy. we cannot pretend dress codes are about anything more than controlling women and promoting a culture that over-sexualizes every aspect of femininity. oppose the code.

i fulllyyyyy agree with this petition, if someone is getting distracted by the clothes i wear they should be the ones to leave not me.

I agree with this because is totally unfair to send people home for wearing skirts that don’t touch their knees and I feel like women who go to farmington should feel comfortable in what they wear

The audacity of the people who are sending girls home because their knees and shoulders are showing is truly disgusting. Why do people feel the need to control every aspect of the lives of kids that are in school? Yes, some items of clothing should not be worn, but if my pants have rips above the thy or my shoulders are showing just a little bit, I'm not going to go home and not get the education that my parents are paying for me to get. It is unfair and not right. I don't go to Farmington high school, but I don't care. All schools should let their students have the freedom to wear what they want.

We are within our rights to wear our clothes. It’s not as distracting as they claim. Our education is worth more than this, change is a must.

All of this is accurate. To send people home because their dress comes barely above the knee is ridiculous.

grow the hell up and wear appropriate clothes for school. you go there to learn not be a slut. and to the liberals and feminists, its not being sexualized either, you have no reason for your ass to hang out of your clothes at school. you guys get plenty of freedom.

I was always for free dress. I hate that sport teams get away with it.
