Please do not increase taxes or fees in any way--in fact, please look at ways to cut expenses & decrease taxes.

I firmly believe that we do not need additional taxes in order to properly fund law enforcement.

Constructively, Taxpayer money is NOT YOURS TO GIVE!! It is incredible that we are casually mentioning a 26% increase on property taxes, while merit wage increases, no layoffs, or any minor or major budget cuts sit on the table WITH this preposterous proposal !! OMG.... what are you thinking really?? Good for you Scott Maddox, review that budget and cut something, that budget is not bear bones by any stretch....

It's amazing the things our city government wastes money on. This should never have happened. Y'all spewed "it's for public safety" when only a % of it will ever go to that. How about not giving city employees a raise since they have had them even in the leanest of years or actually doing an audit of the departments jobs and spending before proposing such a hike,

You had your $ and built some ridiculous amphitheater (that most taxpayers will never visit) to boost the value of the new mayors real estate investors.

This property tax increase is one of the worst ideas I have ever heard of. People need to make sure to get out and vote in the next elections, to get these people out of office who do not listen to the people that they work for.

Before we raise property taxes we should tax the people who drive here for work and college and use our tax-exempt institutions, and put the strain on our infrastructure--raise the sales tax! Let them pay!

Law enforcement is a core responsibility of the government. This is a first priority. Plenty of money already exists in the budget if it prioritized to meet our core responsibilities first.
