I wholeheartedly back this petition!!!

I am opposed to this development. It violates previous agreements and would dramatically increase traffic in surrounding neighborhoods.

I oppose the U of M's proposed development of Deloach St.

We strongly oppose this build

We oppose this massive build for many reasons, including increased traffic and drainage system problems and encroachment on neighborhood border

Respect the residents.

In addition to the "grown-ups" in the neighborhood - consider the potential intrusive effect on the safety of children attending the Lipman School (children two through six years of age). Please do not impair the neighborhood with the proposed student housing development on Deloach.

As a neighbor of Red Acres I have lived on Poplar Avenue for 22 years and I strongly oppose this project, which will create much more traffic on my street. A student housing project is not consistent with the surrounding single family residential neighborhoods all around it.

These beautiful homes and trees need to be left alone.

As a UM alum, I support the continued growth of the university. However, the proposed development is not in keeping with the spirit, much less the letter, of agreement teh University signed with its neighbors in 2003. Part of the beauty of the campus is its location nestled in a thriving, well kept residential and commercial area. It makes it feel like a community as opposed to a generic commuter school. The proposed development further diminish that community feeling and will irreparably harm relationships with the surrounding neighborhoods who have been supportive and committed to a sustaining, smart development of the university and its larger community.

I oppose the UofM's proposed development on Deloach St.

I am opposed to the proposed Deloach Development which clearly dishonors agreements in place nearly twenty years, and further dishonors the forward thinking and community planning that went into making those agreements. Additionally, for this location, the density of development is of great concern. 1. The footprint of buildings, parking, sidewalks offers limited green space for rainwater drainage, a serious and ongoing concern of City planning here and throughout the Country. 2. Provided parking per plan only accommodates for half the residents, certainly causing concern over where overflow cars would be housed. 3. Height of proposed buildings towers over any other with in the “Poplar Residential Corridor”, a protected area from just such development. 4. Number of students and a population otherwise inconsistent with neighbors. Over 500 students concentrated within a traditionally residential area. 5. Traffic. 6. Maintenance and policing.

We support smart growth for the University but adding student dorms and parking lots north of Central is not smart growth, it violates the 2003 agreement and will cause irreparable damage to its long time neighbors. Please find a new location that won't impair existing home values, the City's tax base, and the community's rights to our peaceful enjoyment.

We do not want this development to move forward.

I oppose this U of M expansion.

I oppose the planned multi family development on Deloach because of increased traffic and believe the University of Memphis should continue to be a positive partner in our community by honoring it written agreements.

I oppose the University's Deloach project "Central Station".
