​Petition Opposing the ATX City Council Giving Away $278 Million in Our Taxes to Wealthy Developers

This money should go toward bettering 5lthe lives of citizens of Ausin and to help alleviate homelessness in Austin

Let’s stop this blatant, shameful corruption.

That's ridiculous when people can't even afford housing. The greedy developers have ruined Austin.

NO! I do not want my tax dollars going to this project. Use the funds to fix the Austin Water system, refund Austin Police Department, fix our streets and sidewalks, etc.

From a quality of life perspective, giving away more land along our rivers is not a good idea. That is a bell that can't be unrung. From a fiscal perspective, giving tax breaks to corporations is not needed anymore in Austin. I believe the incubation time for getting development started in Austin was over a looong time ago.

Make the developer pay for the infrastructure needed to build on top of. They will be reaping the benefit not anyone living outside a 2 mile radius of the "concrete on the lake". Over and over, developers, with the cities blessing build more than the infrastructure can handle. Then along with the tax payer footing the bill to upgrade, because it is the cities responsibility to provide roads, sewers, services etc.... they also end up creating unnecessary problems immediately around the development as those things that should have been upgraded first get put in after the fact. More traffic from the development and LESS road while the old road gets widened. Same goes for sewer and power. Etc.... Now they have smartened up! The city and the developer STILL want us to pay for the infrastructure upgrade, but up front. That takes heat off the aftermath of the construction, but continues to make us the sucker.

Giving money to millionaires so they can make more profit is a waste of my tax dollars.

Please pay attention to the community. Basic needs such as parks are crucial for the health and well-being.

Follow L. Templeton and F. Lewis into Lady Bird Lake. They're real winners.

Subsidies like this are unnecessary for this type of development. This is wasteful. Please do not support this agreement.

Fund out police!

Please use this 278 mill to increase the park acreage in Austin, NOT support luxury development and NOT build sports centers in zilker park..

I oppose Austin Council giving away my tax payer's money to developers! How about giving the tax payers back their money???

Let the taxpaying public vote on whether this should happen!

I strongly disapprove of diverting tax dollars to this project. They will make millions without it.

If it's that great of an investment, nobody needs the subsidy.

Will this giveaway provide housing for the homeless?

Development is fine and I support the acceptance of development that is sustainable on the developers dime., without my tax dollars.

Thank you Bill Bunch and Nelson Linder and Fred Lewis and Holly Reed and Laura Templeton and Roger Borgelt for leading this petition drive against yet another corporate handout, nine figures, one quarter of a billion dollars. There is subsidy enough already on the books, through our tax codes, and in the capital markets.

These giveaways mean higher property taxes.
