Crony capitalism is an economic system in which businesses thrive not as a result of free enterprise, but rather as a return on money amassed through collusion between a business class and the political class. This is often achieved by the manipulation of relationships with state power by business interests rather than unfettered competition in obtaining permits, government grants, tax breaks, or other forms of state intervention over resources where business interests exercise undue influence over the state's deployment of public goods, for example, redirection of tax payer funds for hedge fund managers, mega-national real estate investment firms, multi-billion dollar trusts, and - of course! - politically well-connected Council donors.

Our City council has already received enough kick backs from developers. I’m against everything to do with it.

These are already boom growth times. Austin taxpayers do NOT need to fork over any subsidies for growth. It's going to happen anyway. I am absolutely against property tax abatement to private development.

The city of Austin is a premier destination for companies to expand and build here.
This is a lucrative economy for them.
They do NOT need economic incentives!!!
If you want to give out tax breaks, give it to the residents!!
