I oppose a special petition to rezone our neighborhood to allow a commercial enterprise in a residential neighborhood

This is a residential area, which should be preserved to keep the existing residential character of the area. To change that would have a very negative effect on the living standard of the whole neighborhood.

P&Z should maintain the zoning as it stands and keep neighborhoods residential. They are elected to represent us, the voting and tax paying residents.

Simply the wrong location for a commericial use.

This is clearly a residential area of the community and zoned as such; for all the other restrictions that the Ridgefield zoning board employs, its difficult to imagine this one section now being zoned commercial.

My wife and I are very concerned about the proposed plan. We oppose it.

The property is in a residential neighborhood. Changing it to a commercial site is unfair to all residents of Ridgefield and would open the door for similar zoning changes and in so doing change the character of what we consider Connecticut’s best.

This area is "not" a commercial area. That's the way it should stay.

With all due respect, we did not buy our property in a residentially-zoned neighborhood to have the zoning board arbitrarily decide to change the zoning. This sets a precedent. First this and then what? What other zoning changes will follow in other neighborhoods? A convenience store on the corner? A strip mall on an old lot? I am all for a strong business community in Ridgefield, but locate the businesses in downtown where they belong. What makes Ridgefield so beautiful (and desirable) is that, up until now, the zoning board has done a brilliant job of preserving the residential areas while developing the downtown. If the zoning laws aren't upheld, how do they qualify as laws anymore?

This type of facility should not be in a residential neighborhood. Putting it on Old West Mountain Road would set a dangerous precedent for Ridgefield.

I oppose the request for a change in the current zoning status.

We cannot let our beautiful residential neighborhoods be slowly taken apart by our planning and zoning commission. Our town is becoming a different town than the one we love.

I do not support the placement of a commercial business in our residential neighborhood, on our small road.

Was so torn about opposing, but can't afford to loose value in our home! We just tried to sell it this summer and it didn't budge!! There has to be some place on a major road and not right thru our neighborhood!

Commercial zoning does not belong in the heart of a residential area! Strongly oppose!

This deviation from our existing zoning laws impacts all of Ridgefield. Traffic will increase and well water usage for the facility significantly threatens the neighboring water supply. Commercial zoning has no place on a 25 mph, narrow and twisting 2-lane road with adjacent stone walls on either side.
