Case Number: 2018-ZON-031/2018-VAR-001
We, the undersigned, oppose the rezoning of the 6.5 acres of land at 6675, 6681 and 6685 East 75th Street and 7444 Johnson Road from a D-A Disctrict to the D-9 classification for the following reasons:
- It will reduce property values, block our views, and harm our right to quiet enjoyment of our property;
- It is inconsistent with the current use of surrounding properties;
- It will add to the existing traffic congestion problem in this neighborhood;
- It fails to protect the character and aesthetics of our neighborhood;
- It would be very unfair to the many homes in our neighborhood that still do not have access to public water, or sewage treatment, or sidewalks;
- It ignores the proper timing or sequence of development; and
- It will result in harm to the wildlife living in the field.
We therefore demand that the Indianapolis Metropolitan Development Commission deny the petition to change the petition to rezone this land as described above.
The increase in traffic on Johnson Rd would be very hazardous to the families living in the neighborhoods in this area. Currently Johnson Rd is a neighborhood street with kids on bicycles. This rezoning would specifically and adversely effect this aspect of our neighborhood.
