Case Number: 2018-ZON-031/2018-VAR-001

We, the undersigned, oppose the rezoning of the 6.5 acres of land at 6675, 6681 and 6685 East 75th Street and 7444 Johnson Road from a D-A Disctrict to the D-9 classification for the following reasons:

  • It will reduce property values, block our views, and harm our right to quiet enjoyment of our property;
  • It is inconsistent with the current use of surrounding properties;
  • It will add to the existing traffic congestion problem in this neighborhood;
  • It fails to protect the character and aesthetics of our neighborhood;
  • It would be very unfair to the many homes in our neighborhood that still do not have access to public water, or sewage treatment, or sidewalks;
  • It ignores the proper timing or sequence of development; and
  • It will result in harm to the wildlife living in the field.

We therefore demand that the Indianapolis Metropolitan Development Commission deny the petition to change the petition to rezone this land as described above.

The increase in traffic on Johnson Rd would be very hazardous to the families living in the neighborhoods in this area. Currently Johnson Rd is a neighborhood street with kids on bicycles. This rezoning would specifically and adversely effect this aspect of our neighborhood.

My wife and I strongly oppose the rezoning as this will impact our property value and increase traffic along Johnson Road which is already abused as short cut between 75th and 71st Street and driven like it's a Super Speedway. We're also concerned about potential nuisance from residence at the apartment effecting our neighborhood.

There are several senior living structures near this area. None of them are full. This structure will add nothing to the value of this area. It will create more congestion to this area. There us alot of wildlife around this area. Why do you want to destroy this!

What in the world is the thought process of putting high rise apartments adjoining my back yard? A four bedroom residence. One does not see this any where. Why here!
