Oppose Mask Mandate in Greene County/Springfield Missouri

What does work is sunshine, fresh air, vitamin D. Sunshine kills the virus in less than 30 seconds! We need herd immunity which we can't get if we're being kept isolated. God created us with an immune system. In order for it to work there needs to be exposure. Masks don't keep you from being exposed. They give a false sense of security, and may be in fact more of a health risk than the virus itself. People are rebreathing their own carbon dioxide, lowering their oxygen levels. They breed germs and bacteria and keep all of that right up next to your face. It's like wearing a diaper. The only effect masks are N-95 masks. That is why medical professionals use them. Unless the City of Springfield wants to buy one of those for every citizen, we should be able to choose for ourselves whether or not to wear a mask!

They don't work

Drop the ban . Not only is it unconstitutional, but it will do more physical harm than good to those wearing . And on top of that, the city will be losing tax money because people will go elsewhere that doesn't have a ban to do their business.

It's my body and I can do what I want and wear what I want. It's none of the government's business what I wear.

I am very claustrophobic and it can send me into anxiety

I have not been able to handle having my face covered since I was a kid. It causes me to have asthma attacks. I have tried several times but it’s just not worth it to me. I’m the only one in my household able to drive/work/shop. I have other health issues that make me high risk. I’m pretty sure I had the virus in January but was over it quicker (was sick 2-3 weeks) than others who had it. I would rather take my chances with the virus than have to keep using my inhaler because of a stupid mask

Civil Government is to be the servant of the people, not vice versa. We did not vote for mandatory masks.

No facemask... this is no more harmful than the flu! We should be able to be adults and social distance, wash our hands, and take care of ourselves without wearing muzzles on our faces. There is less than a 1% fatality rate in the USA! No masks in Springfield or my family and friends will find another town to shop in! You are killing our local businesses if u pass a mask ordinance!

What justifies the state of emergency? When did "flattening the curve" to originally slow down the spread of SARS-CoV-2 to avoid surge of COVID-19 hospital admissions, turn into "preventing community infections at all costs"? Springfield-Greene County COVID-19 fatalities are way, way below the CDC's epidemic threshold. To date, there has been one COVID-19 fatality within the past 2 months for an accumulative total of 9 since the shut down began?
