Oppose Lucas bill HB 1591

My family firmly requests that Indiana politicians vote no to the Lucas' Education Options Account, HB 1591. Preserve our privacy and our liberty. Keep Indiana free.

Keep it simple. Let us keep more of our money, that costs less than taking it and giving it back to us with strings attached.

Majority of Homeschool children have higher test scores then most schools. I think they need to work on public schools first!

I am all for correcting the petri dishes called public schools but this is not the way to do it. Leave home schoolers alone. Send someone in to the public schools with the common sense, integrity, and character to get us away from political correctness and back on track to properly train our youth.

While I understand how someone would think this could help, more government control is almost always a costly way to create more problems and hurt those who simply want to do a good job educating their children.

We appreciate you trying to help homeschooling families - but government money is not the solution! Please consider a larger tax deduction instead. We like our homeschooling freedoms they way they are. It's part of what makes Indiana great!

Keep the government out of our homes and how we choose to raise our families.

Indiana's homeschool law is one of the only reasons we haven't moved. We have no family ties here. We stay because we have the freedom to school our autistic son and his neurotypical brothers at a pace set by each of them. We can use the methods that actually work for each child. We can assess their learning in ways that are useful for curriculum planning on an individual basis. When you take the everyday choices away from us, you take the progress away as well. We've discussed extensively what we would do if Indiana were more regulated, and our answer is that we would move. We value our freedom to make the best choices for our family. That's why we homeschool in the first place.
