Oppose Location of Substation, Towers, & Powerlines

This same project was proposed by PNM several years and the project was rejected by the Bernalillo County Commission because it violates the Sector Plan for the area. The lots that PNM is purchasing for this project are zoned residential. This substation needs to be sited on lots zoned for this use and closer to the high-density housing development that needs the additional power. It is being located in an area with very low population density. This will affect property values in the area if PNM is allowed to proceed with this project. I am very much in opposition to this project.

The northeastern section of NAA is not driving growth while western and southern portion of NAA have more growth. The cost of locating it at Paseo and Lowell will be much higher than a location closer to the growth areas. These costs will ultimately be passed on to PNM customers. I believe that there has been a lack of transparentcy as I am only learning about this substation location and I believe our NAACA approval process was exclusionary and biased as it does not represent the homeowners opinion to build the substation at the Paseo & Lowell location.

Hello, I am oppose to routing 115kv line right next to our backyard at tramway. 115kv line will generate a great amount of EMR and tied to Leukemia and other illness wit residents living close to that line. There is a reason why 115kv routed away from residential to minimize any EMR impact to residents near by. Also the humming sound will impact individual with migraines and heart issue. Increased risk to wildfire rescue and firefighting if 90' towers are this close to Sandia Heights. Unsafe along Tramway Blvd. with all of the speeders and towering over people's homes. Unfair to make Sandia Heights take this burden when the power is needed by the growth areas.

We are strongly opposed to the PNM Recommendation to build a Power line along Tramway Blvd. for the following reasons: A. Far too close to a public park (Little Cloud). B. Far too close to and above a well traveled bicycle and pedestrian walkway. Surely a more suitable place for a transmission line can cited.

I am writing to stress my opposition to the substation towers and power lines proposed by PNM. Their proposed presence would serve to lower property values and lessen the beautiful viewing opportunites in Sandia Heights. This project needs to be moved to the areas that are driving up the actual usage demand: the western, northwestern, and southern portions of NAA and surrounding communities with high density housing and business concentration - high electricity usage areas.

We oppose locating cell phone towers along Tramway and adversely affecting the beauty and natural health of the environs.

We strongly oppose the projected PNM plan to build a large electrical substation and 90 ft. transmission towers in the Paseo/Tramway area. We reiterate the same concerns as many have stated, particularly (1) the increased electromagnetic radiation which is a health risk for everyone living, walking, and biking in the area, (2) the unquestioned diminishing of property values, (3) the destruction of views of the Sandia Mountains, and (4) generally messing up the entire landscape along Paseo and Tramway. What an obnoxious plan in a densely-populated area. Please heed our concerns and target an “out of the way” area.

I am abhorred at the lack of transparency that this process has shown for the Sandia Heights neighborhood- especially those of us in very close proximity to Tramway where these towers are planned. With such a direct impact on our property values and more, why were we not dealt with more straightforwardly? Why was North Albuquerque Acres consulted and enabled to make this decision for us?! Yes, NAA is a very very affluent area no doubt, but our voices matter too, and our neighborhood is right along Tramway and made up of elderly retirees on fixed incomes, busy families with children, and everything in between. We do not have the wealth and apparent power of the North Albuquerque Acres residents who apparently were able to make the decision to shove the lines up against our homes instead of their vast (in comparison) acre-sized properties. We may not have as much economic clout as them, but it does not mean that our voices are less valuable or should be subsumed by theirs! I call on the county and PNM to pause this decision made without our input and re-consider the plan, allowing full participation of the Sandia Heights neighborhoods who will be impacted as soon as possible.

Vehemently oppose. The view of our beautiful Sandias would be impacted. Why in the world would PNM even consider this given the beauty of our mountain?

Stop destroying our neighborhood.

The Sandia Mountains are what make Albuquerque so unique. To muddy up the view of them with huge power lines is sinful. You can't go back!
