This will crash the home sales economy even worse than it is now! Our family rents vacation homes every where we go. What an embarrassment this would be for Branson and a set back in the way the rest of the world is evolving as to vacation rentals!!

The lake area only has a population of 125,000. So removing $50 million from the lake economy reduces the amount of money in each 4 person family has to live on by $1600 per year!! All our politicians need to do to prevent that loss of income is NO NEW TAXES AND NO NEW REGULATIONS ON VACATION HOME RENTALS.

My family of 20+ rents a home on the also, rents a home each year on the lake. We spend thousands of dollars at local retaurants, bars, grocery stores, fishing supply stores, etc in the local communities. We will never stay in hotels at the lake. We will be forced to find another destination if this legislation is passed. There are plenty of other options in the midwest. This seems completely unnecessary and a very poor strategy for the future of the lake. The citizens who rely on tourists who support the local economy. Thank you for listening to our concerns.

Their are several reasons why. 1) Expedia wants money for collecting taxes and enforcing compliance with new regulations. 2) The Hotels and Motels represented by Jim Divincen don't want to compete with vacation home rentals. 3) Diane Franklin wants to keep us all "safe"or maybe just to get Diane in a a good relationship with Expedia. I have never heard her say what she is keeping us safe from but would mostly like to be kept safe from her legislation. Rocky Miller is married to the person who manages the Porto Cima POA which lost a court battle to ban vacation home rentals. Certainly nobody is doing this because it is going to be good for home owners, property values, or the lake economy in general. If vacation home rentals are banned it will crash the economy.

The Lake of the Ozarks is a fantastic place for family vacations. Why would anyone want to take that away from good families??

We rented other condos and homes for 20 years at the lake of the ozarks. We spent money in restaurants, boat rentals, helicopter rides, family reunions, antiques, local boutiques etc. We would not have stayed in motels!! We currently rent our condo out if you discontinue we would have to sell. Current prices from when we purchased are down $40,000. I think you would totally topple home values!

We are in a quiet area and rent occasionally. Our renters come from out of state and spend money locally. They are there when we cannot be so this is just extra money spent there at the lake that would not be the case if I stop renting

I believe they got this idea from a similar kind or ordinance in St.Louis County that prohibits guests , even family members to stay in their own homes without approval ...I am not sure because I no longer live there, but it is similar . It did not pass due to overwhelming push back. But then the losers pulled a slick maneuver to vote on it again with some kind of loophole and it passed. People were furious. Do not think it's over if the homeowners win. Be very attentive. This is outrageous and may require legal action.

Do not vote for this. It will hurt the lake's economy. We know of people who have stayed in rental property and were so impressed with the lake that they want to move here. They didn't want to stay in a motel or hotel because they wanted the feel of being in a home. Big government needs to stay out of private home ownership. We pay plenty of taxes already.

This is the company which our elected officials wants to put in charge of taxing and regulating home owners in Missouri. I though that is what the government is supposed to do?

Many families that currently buy a second home at the lake, do so because they can offset some of the holding costs with occasional nightly rentals. It appears that this legislation will take them out of the market to buy real estate @LakeoftheOzarks

I have a property that I plan to rent out by the day, week or month and would rather not see that possibility taken away especially due to the efforts of some large corporation. I'm even more concerned if the corporation(s) behind any proposed legislation has foreign ties.
