I agree with Dave Schutz, our 2016 President of Lake of the Board of Realtors.

This would not be a good thing for the Lake of the Ozarks. No more taxes!

I am a vacation rental homeowner and have been in the business for 11 years at Lake of the Ozarks. I only have two homes left - business is tough with our prime season so short. We don't need additional taxes and regulation to make it even harder. I can't imagine if owners decide to quit renting their homes and the lake having fewer and fewer places for vacationers to stay. The loss of income will be devastating. And YES, the guests will go elsewhere to vacation and take their vacation dollars with them.

Unconstitutional. Can not tell some one what they can do with their property unless it is the subdivision rules. I have argued this for a very long time.

This would potentially force a lot of vacation owners to sell their homes, which would cause a flood of homes on the market, causing housing prices to plummet. This would now effect the entire area. They could not of accomplished this at a hotel room. What they may of done is moved their vacation to an area that has vacation home to rent. Therefore lost revenue and tax dollars for this area. As a vacation rental homeowner, this would put a hardship on all the local businesses, that depend on the tourist. This area is a vacation market. It is not like Kansas City or St. Louis that have manufacturing or industries, etc... Lake of the Ozarks area is very dependent upon the tourist. Not only would this legislation effect vacation rental owners, but also many local and small businesses, such as restaurants, landscapers, boat rental and repairs, gas stations, grocery stores, handymen, retail shops, cleaning people, real estate companies, the county and the schools from the tax dollars that are brought in from the homeowners of vacation homes and the vacationers expenditures, and on and on and on.

I have sold my rental homes but fully agree that the increase of regulation and/or increased taxation is NOT in the best interest of the general lake community and homeowners. I can think of many other areas that the legislators need and SHOULD be involved in vs vacation rentals! Set up better priorities or face being voted out of office.

We always promote the local restaurants and marinas for our guest to visit and rent boats, We have been doing this for four years and have a lot of repeat families.

If the recent election showed anything it was that people are tired of being taxed and regulated out of business. This would ruin the vacation industry at the lake. And don't think this is only a lake issue, once they get their hands on additional tax money they'll be coming for 'you' next.

The income is needed to keep the lake growing. I have seen great growth with restaurants and small business's the last few years from having more rentals available at the lake.

We do not need more taxation to hinder the progress that's been made since the recession.

No new legislation or regulations taking away homeowners property rights .

If the government can't operate off their current tax base it will certainly collapse without all of the tourist dining out, playing golf and shopping in the local communities. Homes will go into foreclosure and there will be even less tax base locally.

We do not need any legislation to slow the growth in the Lake of the Ozarks.

I sign because I don't agree with more taxation. Work with what you have!!
