Having personally worked on a few of these type homes over the past three years, I can say that I have seen the benefits of these properties first hand. Not only did the work come at a time when our construction company needed the business, it also exhibited the comfort that a large group could enjoy together with all the perks that the lake home offers. Additionally, witnessing the owners of these properties go out of their way to make sure that the neighbors were not infringed upon, proved to me that it was not only a business to them, but an investment in the community. It saddens me to see this effort to hurt such a positive boost to our local economy.

These regulations would force property values down and create an economic hardship for many markets in Missouri.

We are Realtors and this would take away property rights from individual and negatively affect our beautiful resort Tri Lake Areas.

This is stupid to say the least....why on earth would you want to take away something that brings $$' S in? I love the lake of the Ozarks, love to rent houses and stay on the lake. The beauty and memories of the lake are mesmerizing and heart warming.

I am a condo owner in Holiday Hills in Branson Missouri. I am alarmed at even just the consideration of such regulations, since I rent my condo out through VRBO/HomeAway on a nightly basis! Just like everybody else, I depend on my rental income, and would be put in financial ruin if forced to pay more taxes/comply with more regulations! This cannot pass at Lake of the Ozarks, because I agree with you, Branson/Tablerock/Lake Taneycomo would be next. Please keep me posted on where this goes, and what happens!

This is a ridiculous example of government overstepping their role.

This is a corporate take over by Expedia. Missouri doesn't need Expedia to do their accounting at an unheard of fee! Hire a local accounting firm and send all of us honest people to their door! We will go freely!!

These lake houses are wonderful environments for family reunions & get together's. Being able to prepare meals & enjoy them together is always a special time for families, and having a homey atmosphere lends itself to these events.

I believe that the right to rent is not only a blessing to the owner, but it is a blessing to the renters as well. These families get an opportunity to share the beauty and tranquility that our lake has to offer

This bill if it passes will severely depress the economy at the Lake of the Ozarks. This must be defeated.

I'm signing this petition in hopes that my family and myself can continue working at Lake of the Ozarks. We spend almost our entire spring and summers cleaning and getting vacation homes ready for vacationers. We not only enjoy what we do, we know that the vacationers enjoy it also. We live in a small town and commute to Lake of the Ozarks for work. If we didn't have this work I'm not sure what we would do.

By signing this petition I am asking that no new regulations or taxes be placed on those who wish to rent homes to guests/tourists of the Lake of the Ozarks. I am not in favor of any new taxation or regulation regardless of whether the property is rented by the year, the month, or the day.
I am signing this petition because this would be so detrimental to myself and my family. We have been cleaning and doing maintenance at vacation rental homes throughout Lake of the Ozarks for several years now. Our main source of income comes from these cleanings and maintenance. I really don't know where we would be if we didn't have this income.
Thank you,
Tammy Lockhart

I travel all over the United States promoting Vacation Rental and I've visited many states and counties with successful models for use and regulation and none of them include passing regulatory power / authority to a private corporation that has no duty of accountability to local citizens. Those lawmakers who partner for profit will be exposed. Those that serve the public will be saluted.
