Impossible to regulate fairly. Just another way to burden the public with more taxation without representation.

We need less regulation ,only government benefits from more regulation .

The Lake of the Ozark won the best recreational lake in the country last year. Why would you want to change something that is obviously working. I will remember there politicians names the next time I vote.

I believe this legislation would impose unfair taxes on property owners choosing to either lease Their home or rent their home either part-time or full-time

Horrible legislation. Please do not enact this overarching regulation.

Stop this legislation that will prevent us from renting our lake property .

We pay all the hotel/motel tax and local option, I am afraid that this will stop reporting income and sales tax by those whose choose to go under the radar

We are owners of a 3 bedroom condo at the Towers at Parkviewbay and are totally against the proposed takeover and increase in taxes. We are only able to keep our unit because of the small amount of income derived from the rental that we receive during the summer months at the lake. This goes to pay for our association fees and expenses. We attended the TCLA meeting held last spring in which they were proposing a 1 to 3% increase in the tax which they collect from the rental of homes and condos at the lake. The proposal was not implemented last year due to the negative response but was not completely taken off the table for future consideration. For those of you who are not aware VRBO and Home Away are now owned by Expedia and this is who the state of Missouri is looking at to set the rules for rentals in the state. We are not residents of Missouri so our voice is not heard by the representatives of the lake area but we pay our taxes just the same to both TCLA and the state.

I own a condo in Holiday Hills Golf Resort in Branson, which is minutes from the Branson Landing, and thus only 5 minutes from Lake Taneycomo, and not far from Table Rock Lake. I rent it on a nightly rental basis through VRBO, and would likely be affected by this proposed legislation to increase our property taxes! I am supportive of any attempts to block this legislation, so that us property owners who rent out our properties can continue to make a profit, which enables us to keep our properties!

I feel it will hurt the whole area of business as much or more than the property owners.

A difference between the Branson area and the Lake of the Ozarks may be how the lodging/tourist tax is spent. I will only speak about the TCLA at the LOZ who collects and spends the lodging tax. The TCLA is one of the main groups lobbying for the proposed legislation which will increase regulation and taxation on home owners. The home owners who are paying the lodging tax feel the TCLA is using our tax dollars to lobby against our interest. The TCLA seems to represent the interest of Hotels and Motels who want to see vacation home/condo rentals abolished as a source of competition. It is not too surprising that many home/condo owners do not want to pay taxes to the TCLA to provide funds so that Jim Divincen and the TCLA can lobby to place restrictions on renting. The American Revolution was started to the cry of "no taxation without representation" , what the TCLA is doing is worse as it is taxation with misrepresentation.

As Realtors in SW Missouri we have been working with Stone and Taney county to put forth a viable plan for Vacation Rental homes which includes the payments of tourism taxes, county taxes etc. This new trick is trying to set us back in our efforts. I, and many of my fellow agents oppose this new "deal".

We have a family owned lake house and rent it out so others can enjoy it. Many come for family reunions because it sleeps so many and they thoroughly enjoy it. They have shared many positive comments and memories with us. Please don't take this option away.

I clean one of the rental properties and take care of the landscaping for 4 of them. If they were to have to close, it would be a significant loss of income for me and several of my friends and co-workers doing multiple jobs. Multiply that by how many rental houses there are around here and it would be a great loss to the economy. And then there's all the money those tourists bring to the Lake.

I am opposed to increased legislation and taxation on home owners who want to legally rent their homes as a vacation rental.

I can speak for not jusyt myself as to loos of income but for my whole office as well as many of my peers. the process is painful and costly to get approval..I/we understand there needs to be taxes but please make changes that work better and eaisier for all concerend buyer,seller and tax collector?
