I strongly oppose HB 608 and the manner in which this is coming about. When I purchased my home in 2015, none of this was disclosed.

If I cannot rent my property, I will be forced to sell. I just bought it in May of 2016. I now go to the lake much more often because I own a home there. And I spend a lot of money in Osage Beach when I am there, in restaurants, shopping, groceries, home improvement, furniture, boat & lift service, and gasoline by land and water. We have one home. How many families, just like ours, will be impacted by this? How will you justify harming the real estate market so badly? The lake is already short on vacation rentals, so how does your proposal possibly help? Counter proposal: Instead of placing additional regulations on vacation rental owners, simply remove regulations and taxes from hotel and resort owners, thus leveling the playing field in a positive manner - and one that promotes liberty instead of removing it.
Thank you.

Please stand up for the small business owners. The tourist trade is very important to the economy.

This would be devastating to our Lake Owners and the Real Estate business in these Second Home Markets.

I am strongly opposed to the Lake home rental legislation. It seems like we have voted in a group of democrats that wish to regulate and tax. Very disappointed

Please don't impair our economy at the Lake - it is hard enough to attract business and income flow is so important for our economy to thrive...thanks, Ellen Tietmeyer

Without the income from rentals I would not be able to afford the condo I bought last March. Currently we break even, any change that would cost homeowners more, would be a major problem for us.

We purchased our Lake home 6 years ago because we love the Lake and hope to retire there one day. Since our purchase, we have now employed 6 people who make the lake their permanent home. If you change this law we will lose our home and you will put 6 people out of jobs! Last year alone we paid out over $15,000 in all the work we had done to our property along with paying our employees. Now times that by 150 to 200 homeowners and this just shows you how much money the Lake will be losing. Why would you want to put more people out or Jobs is beyond me! Our homes are not just a retirement or investment to Lake they are jobs and tourism to the lake! Let's keep everyone employed here!

I am asking that no new regulations or taxes be placed on those who wish to rent homes to guests/tourists at Missouri lakes. I am not in favor of any new taxation or regulation regardless of whether the property is rented by the year, the month, or the day.

I support legislation that allows lake ozark vacation home owners to rent their properties. This brings additional revenue into the area. I am also against taxing these properties at corporate rates.l, since most use or rent only on a limited basis.

Vacation rentals are part of the tourism at Lake of the Ozarks and other areas like here. WHY WOULD anyone even suggest to change it?
