Oppose LCDs and open up access to all MIGS options for glaucoma patients

This is an atrocity.

People need this surgery. Please support them

I have early stage glaucoma and want to have minimally invasive options available if some day my condition requires surgery.

MIGS is not only very effective for some, but makes a lot of sense economically. Not reimbursing for MIGS but reimbursing for much more invasive ophthalmologic surgery for the same reasons is akin to encouraging the use of sutures in place of band-aids.

I am not Medicare age yet but I can’t fathom why MIGS would not be covered. I recently had an istent placed and it has controlled by pressures. Everyone should be allowed this opportunity.

Surgical options for glaucoma should be open to recipients of Medicare. Sometimes surgery is the best treatment option for the patient.

This is a necessary surgery and should always be covered.

This really upsets me as the minimally invasive procedures can be as better option for some of us. Not all Glaucoma eyes are the same. They just don't care about us. If you have high blood pressure you get your medicine for free with insurance. Most of our drops are not free. They don't care if we are blind!

MIGS are a well-studied mainline treatment. If coverage is not available, doctors will lose the skills they need to do these operations and patients will be irretrievably harmed.

People with glaucoma, will not be able to afford necessary treatment to save their vision, in the U.S., one of the wealthiest countries on earth. Do the right thing and cover by Medicare.

Eyesight is too important to be defunded

I have severe glaucoma and have had the canaloplasty using iTrack. It was successful, lowering my IOP such that I have avoided more serious surgery. I need the same option for my other eye in the future. Simpler, no complications and only short term drugs/drops rather than months as with the more radical approaches.

We need alk the help we can get but many cannot affird. It is cheaper in the long run to preserve our vision!

Glaucoma is a complex disease. We need all the treatment options we can get. That includes MIGS procedures.

Please do not limit treatment options for more than 3 million glaucoma patients in the US!

As an eye surgeon myself, I cannot stress how incredibly important this is. If you ever need a glaucoma procedure, I pray that the best and most appropriate options are available to you.
