I am opposed to this proposal on the basis that the vessel is too large for this restricted area, and it will have a disproportionate impact on the community and leisure activities carried out there, as well as the existing businesses and residents. Additionally,I am very concerned to read the comments of Steve. Do the Council actions demand some kind of Inquiry?

Restraining navigation in the basin. Also reduce the navigable areas of the harbour. More restrictions on areas of the harbour that can be used.

When I was a child in the 60's the only commercial ships to use the basin were the sand ships. The rest of the basin was used and had been for many a year for pleasure craft and the HQ of the c.c.c the ex lightship the John Sabasion. The sand ships moved away from the basin and the c.c.c lightship was moved on to the sand ships now unused berth. This part of the city docks has never over the last 40-50 years been used for residential use. Surely this is now a change of use? Does it require planning permission?

I do not want to see more bars on Welsh Back. It will lead to even more anti-social behaviour on harbourside.

Ebenhaezer is my home, I grew up on her. Although having a residential contract with the council to moor where we currently are, for over 13 years the council have done their best to make our lives unbearable. They have destroyed our safe haven and have left a scar on my childhood. My mum has been pushed to her limits with stress fighting the council for our home just give me a place of security. They have left us both emotionally and financially in debt and refuse to acknowledge the cost to us. YOU HAVE STOLEN OUR PAST DO NOT STEAL OUR FUTURE. Treat us like human beings with respect and acknowledge the cost to us.

It seems ridiculous that the council would go against their own policies that the bathurst basin is not for residential mooring, unless they want it to be, to remove a boat from a currently suitable location that is too large for the basin at a detriment to the local residents.

Having lived and worked around this location including having previously worked at one of the places that the large vessel will encroach upon this is a outrageous suggestion. The Basin and residents do not want this boat to be moved here surely moving it further along the docks is a better idea or alternatively leave it where it is, and either build around it or don’t continue gentrifying the area and leave part of Bristol’s history where it is!

Bathurst Basin is a relatively small area of water for such a large boat as the Ebenezer and it would look totally out of place there. The current location is perfectly suitable for the boat and I fail to see why it should be moved.
If the warehouse at Welsh Back was used as a museum to celebrate the abolition of slavery it is in the ideal position historically and the moorings alongside currently occupied by Ebenezer would not have any effect on the mooring. This seems to be what many Bristolians would like for this area and I believe it is the right time to undertake this acknowledgement of transatlantic slavery and its continuing effect on Bristol.
