Why on earth is this still going on? More unwanted night clubs, more bars, more traffic. Residents displaced, residents inconvenienced. Dear Bristol Council, why do residents best interests always, always take second place to commercial gain and private greed? At least be honest about it.

The council should be transparent as to why they want to move the barge.

The site is totally inappropriate for a boat of this size.

Bathurst Basin is completely inappropriate for a boat of this size and type, and the proposal would wreck the appearance of an important tourist location as well as impair the view for Bristol residents. This cannot be a suitable site.

Councils think they can bully people into doing their bidding - wrong!

I am amazed that this lunatic plan to move Ebenhaezer to Bathurst Basin is still going on. Firstly, Ebenhaezer is far too big to go in the basin and would look totally out of place and the residents of the boat would have no privacy whatsoever. Secondly, does Bristol City really need any more fast food/burger bars with alcohol licences? Is it only me that reads about the number of food outlets in Bristol that are closing down on a regular basis? Surely better use could be found for the O&M Sheds to promote the historic, if not, controversial, use of Welsh Back in the past, such as a museum, gallery/studio etc? I have always believed that we were all born into a democracy in the UK. Isn't it time BCC listened to the opinions of the people who pay their wages and put an end to this outrageous abuse of their power? Don't destroy an historic area and uproot this poor family.

It seems to me that local wishes and indeed due process are being bypassed for profit motives. There is a family caught up in all this who should be protected by the LA not bullied.

With plenty of alternative mooring sites suggested, there are no logical reasons to re-locate this boat to Bathurst Basin.

The Bathurst Basin is meant for marina boats, Not for permanent residential boats. The Ebenhaezer is far too large for the Basin and would dominate the other boats, the appearance of the Basin, and could lead to other barges being brought in so it becomes a residential only basin. It will detract from the Basin's appearance and also the overall appearance of the area; at present, without the barge being a cery pleasant and appealing spot for existing land businesses and residents, the sailing boats and tourists.

Please don’t do it - I’ve visited, boated and moored in this area and it would be ruined by this. The thin end of a dreadful wedge too.

Bathurst Basin is an historic oasis in the heart of the city of Bristol. It enjoyed not only by residents but by many of the wider Bristol community working nearby and importantly by tourists attracted to city and its historic Harbourside. The Ebenhaezer is an inappropriately large vessel to be moored in Bathurst Basin.

This boat is huge and will totally dominate the Basin, reducing the safety and manoeuvrability of boats and be counter to the no residential policy in the basin.

I can’t believe a city so imaginative with a culture so envied can be so short sighted and greedy as to prosecute this houseboat move, it will destroy the family involved and lower the tone of the centre of this city, lowest common denominator bars and restaurants is the lazy, greedy option for the O&M shed development.

This is an inappropriate mooring for this vessel which should remain where it is.

Bathurst basin would cease to be such a pleasant and delightful spot if the Ebenhaezer is allowed to move there.

inappropriate vessel to moor there, and these are not residential moorings.

It is, simply, too big for that spot.
