Oppose Cigna’s Decision to Not Cover the Cost of OxyContin in 2018

Although I am allergic to the new formulation of OxyContin or maybe not allergic but my body would not process it so it was not affective for me it is very affective for many people. For insurance not to pay for it would be like not covering insulin for a diabetic

I HAVE SUFFERED WITH RSD FOR OVER 13 YRS. I CAN'T TELL SOMEONE HOW PAINFUL THIS DISEASE REALLY IS. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS BELIEVE IN US NEEDING HELP WITH OXYCONTIN AND NOT TO ALLOW IT TO BE UNCOVERED BY INS. PLEASE WE PRAY FOR ALL THOSE SUFFERING AND NOT BEING ABLE TO HAVE HELP.

This would be HORRIBLE for Chronic Pain Patients! We are Pain Patient NOT Drug Addicts!!! Think... what IF it happened to YOU or one of your loved ones. Mine was due to a Work Accident and my employer failed to have Workers Comp!!!

Shame on them for taking away the meds that we truly need to help with the excruciating pain we deal with 24/7!!! And who is it that decides that “cancer related pain” is the only type of pain that is allows a patient access to these opioids? Well I’d like to have that person or people stand in my shoes for a day maybe 2 or 3...... and then have them tell me how to decide who or what kind of pain is worthy of opioid prescription! They wouldn’t last a day before showing up at the ER or wanting to jump off a bridge to end their life!!! UNBELIEVEABLE!!!! Think people.... listen to everyone not just a select few.... our pain is real and is going no where at the moment! It’s staying right here in my body and killing me softly each and every day!!’

This type of thing is causing grievious harm to pain patients who are being made to suffer for no real reason. Drs and patients did NOT cause YOUR PROBLEM! How dare you dictate to me or my Dr WHAT treatment I need to treat my pain! Less than 1% of pain patients become addicted so stop this horrendous attack on people who have done nothing wrong! You have NO RIGHT TO MAKE PEOPLE SUFFER! I hope every single one of you suffers a long, slow agonizing death with nothing for your pain! You are leaving people to suicide because it's the only way to stop the pain! You have blood on your hands with more blood on the way and I hope you drown in it!

As a person currently covered by Cigna health and with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome for the past 20 years that has to take pain medications that help control the chronic burning pain I live with every day it is ridiculous that my insurance provider is refusing coverage of medications that my pain specialist feels I need to function. I am a mental health therapist that already doesn't take the meds as often as I should due to my professional responsibilities. But at night and when I need breakthrough relief my doctor has ordered medications he feels are right for me that he monitors regularly. Does Cigna health want the high costs of mental health facilities for the patients that can't keep their chronic pain under control with reasonable management. This is unacceptable and putting people's lives in danger due to treating all chronic pain patients like drug seekers. I'll give you the pain I deal with daily if I could to help your executives understand the harm being done.

You clearly do not understand chronic pain and those who take the meds for relief not to get high or for short-term pain. We have been handicapped by the DEA on our dose already do not take away our only hope of a life. If you do, the suicide rate will rise, if that is your goal, SHAME ON YOU!

Patients with chronic pain and chronic illnesses need their medications and don't abuse their medications. They take the medications as prescribed.

Real chronic pain patients that have diseases like CRPS or CMS or CMT or God knows what other letters you can throw together to name a hard disease need these medicines because it's the only way we can survive because the technology is not there for us to have other medicines that are more effective none of the real chronic pain patients ever abused their medicines and we are now suffering people are turning to the street someone I know overdosed three times in four months because his doctor reduced then cut off his opiate pain medications for FDA and legal reasons not because it was the right way to treat a patient

People are in pain they need the legal meds that work.

My daughter doesn't use Oxycontin but does use a different opiate for pain due to CRPS. I don't want this ban to set a precedent where insurance companies decide what medicines patients should or shouldn't take.

I have suffered fro RSD/CRPS since an injury in 2002. OxyContin is an excellent medication for treating the intense burning pain that never goes away. This disease didn't get named the suicide disease for no reason
