Oppose Anthem's Discrimination Against PTs and Their Patients

AIM has been the worst advent for patient care and the delivery of PT services that I have ever experienced. Baseless denials for care and a complete lack of service to the patient and contracted PTS. BC has fallen to be one of the worst In network payers in the state which of course trickles down to the patient.

Asking anyone I have had the privilege to treat or guide, to please sign the petition.

Anthem-Blue Cross is more concerned with profits than providing a fair wage for P.T.'s who provide the care for their patients.

How dare you deny or limit how much treatment a DOCTOR has prescribed for their patient. We canceled our contract with Anthem due to the amount of money we were losing, treating patients with Anthem or Blue Cross plans.

The Blue Cross payments already pay less than cost, especially for clinics, and now with many contracts paying for eval only and no treatment, it is very stressful to work with complex clients in particular. Every week it gets worse

PT does way more than a Dr

Such an oxymoron! An insurance company that doesn't allow Physical Therapists to do their job (and save both the company and patients, $). It's all wrong!

I DO NOT support rationing of medically necessary care! Anthem is requiring processes that clearly intend to reduce access to medically necessary care and they clearly do not care that it will hurt the patients. They are shortsighted and are trying to cripple Physical Therapy services when doing so will result in more substantial health issues later that will likely cost the Anthem and the patient more than just allowing them reasonable access to PT now.

Anthem Blue Cross has been constantly delaying payments, wrongfully denying claims without any issues, underpaying claims (and making very difficult to have the correct payments issued), has rationed patient visits with their implantation of AIM (which has constant issues that Blue Cross has even admitted to having), has sent us contracts that is not ethically sound, has failed to properly trained their staff on a multitude of billing knowledge as well as benefit information and summaries. Blue Cross has also mishandled Re considerations and Appeals, even when secondary to Medicare (which they are supposed to be following Medicare Guidelines). Blue Cross has ignored Several of patient Medicare EOBs, and instead has Wrongfully denied the claims stating the Medicare EOBs were not received, regardless of having sent them directly to Blue Cross multiple times with confirmations from Blue Cross of being received. Blue Cross's provider Relations team is VERY hard to get ahold of and very unresponsive, as they tend to ignore any concerns or questions providers have. Blue Cross's reimbursements are also VERY low, especially when compared to other commercial insurance fee schedules. Blue Cross has left NO ROOM for negotiation or reimbursement rate increases per their 2020 contract, regardless of their failure to increase their reimbursement rates for the last 10 years.

This Process is wrong and keeping clients from receiving the care they need!

My PT has saved me from so many issues these past few years.

PT's are sometimes the only form of pain relief that I have experienced. PT is not just for the rich....I had 2 knee replacements and due to these therapists I was able to come back to successfully walking 4 miles a day with no pain. THEY ARE ESENTIAL!!!!

My practice, like many others, cannot survive with the low reimbursements that Anthem and the other insurance companies want to give, including Medicare. We, as healthcare professionals, should be able to make a decent living caring for our patients.

PT is the most cost effective treatment for musculoskeletal disorders. Appropriate PT treatment is not only effective but a bargain for insurance companies compared to often unnecessary medications, scans and surgery. It should not continue to be limited to policy holder patients.

PT is an essential part of healthcare and recovery
