This project is totally inappropriate for this rural village and abuts a property in conservation easement with LTV. LTV has been in a legal battle with the owner of the easement property for 7 years because the owner has a total disregard for authority and violated the easement. While I commend the BOS on their past support of protecting the rural qualities of Aldie, this project does just the opposite and will jeopardize the property in conservation easement and the water quality of the river.

I have commented in longer form in a direct letter to the BOS but I feel so strongly about this that I will also write here.
Aldie is the last vestige of a charming small village to the east. The land east of that was always meant to be a "transition area" so that the rural land to the west would not be disturbed. If we continue to pave over and make "improvements" that make money for a few, we lose the magic and the power of a place to which manywere raised or attracted to. There are so many reasons why this does not make sense.
Please make every effort to leave the rural villages that remain alone. This proposal for Aldie will compromise a lot of steep slope, stream corridor and safety. This is a very poor economic decision on the part of the county.

As I drive around the roads of Loudoun County, it seems I see increased development day by day and wonder how it is the development helps us as citizens, how it helps our futures, and how it could possibly benefit our environment. Please reconsider.

What was all the money and time spent on Rt 50 traffic calming if Aldie is to bee exponentially commercially expanded? This also sounds like a huge waste of taxpayer money. How can you possibly justify this bloated "settlement"?

To save one village by destruction of another is not logical. I urge the BOS to complete a full study of the environmental impact and loss of historical significance from the times of the Native Americans and thru the centuries. Please be thoughtful. The money for this could be wisely spent to help the families of Loudoun and their children for their health, housing and education. They are in urgent need. Do not sacrifice their heritage. Help them . That effort will be impactful in reaching out a helping hand to so many in need. This project does not help them. It destroys their heritage. Please remain focused on your directive. To help the citizens of Loudoun. Not take from them.

This is a historic and beautiful scenic area that needs to be preserved as is, not destroyed. Once gone it cannot be reclaimed the way it was. If this goes through it will set a bad precedent. I am totally against this! It is bad for Loudoun County which is unique and should not become just more "suburbia". Also the traffic will become worse and there are negative environmental impacts. So many negatives against this getting approved.
