i do not agree with them as this is the migratory path for snoek and yellow tail even geelbek, this is just another way for them to cut recreational fishing tac and past it on . like abalone closed for so many years but the tonnage of illegal abalone is going up and up yearly ,the real reason is that the species is having a population explosion because we dont have access to it

How is it possible for them to close off an area that is a route/area for pelagic fish. Where is the studies on this? I have no problem with a notake bottom fishing area

I am against the proposed Robben Island MPA. I regularly fish the area around Robben Island and will not be able to catch snoek and yellowtail if the proposed MPA is enforced.

I support a controlled area and not a completely closed off area. Allow fisherman to fish and monitor the bag / catch limits. Stop the trawling in the area and the trek netters that indiscriminately catch juvenile fish.

The pelagic fish that are caught in this area are just passing through and give our recreational fishermen a chance to catch a few fish for the pot, as well as giving the commercial fishermen a livelyhood

No way's should the Minister be allowed to close off recreational fishing in Table Bay. most of the fish caught there is passing through anyway.
STOP ALL COMMERCIAL FISHING IN THE BAY

I am totally opposed to closing of fishing in the Table Bay area without there being any sound scientific reasoning for this. We are responsible and grown up adults.

No I do not think this is right. I have being fishing with my son there since he was 4 years old and we love every minute of it and we are against poaching but we love our boating and fishing for fun and they must bring scientific proof that there is a risk and we would like to be notified about it and why is this decision being made
