Operation Save our BCHS Pond

We the students of Boyd County High School, Ashland Kentucky, comprised of approximately 900 students, hereby petition the Boyd County School District Board to restrain from the wasteful filling of the BCHS Pond. The refurbished pond and surrounding area can be used as a center piece for many academic purposes, such as science based research and horticultural classes as well as morale and recreation area. This school grounds beautification project would allow students, faculty and families to enjoy a beautiful outdoors facility. Current fundraising efforts have been initiated to offset any district funding to maintain this area with minimal environmental impact and minimal construction improvement projects such as an intended gazebo area, short pier and adjacent parking areas.
