Please have kids go to school full time. Many other schools are doing it. Masks are required when social distancing is not possible. So if kids are required to wear a mask, they can get closer than 6 feet. Per CDC, open the school full time. Kids have already lost a semester last year, let’s not have them lose another semester.

Kids should go back to school. Those uncomfortable can stay home with the option of 100% live online education as an option. See what Lower Merion did - why can’t TE do that?

I respect that these are tough times that require difficult decisions but really want my high school kids in school as many days as possible. Two days of live instruction is not enough. They need to be prepared for college and life beyond.

The distancing guidelines for 6 feet are “to the maximum extent possible”. That means if it’s not possible, do 3 feet. 5 days of schooling is what we pay for, require, and deserve. Those who are uncomfortable may choose virtual. If we choose to expose our kids, we choose 5 days.

Teachers are essential workers. It is their job. Doctors, nurses, grocery store workers etc. went in and did their jobs. They did what they needed to do to keep our community running. The same applies to teachers

The public message has moved to "stay safe". The intent of all mitigation efforts from the CDC and governments at all levels in our nation was to not overwhelm the health system. The data attests that the health system is underused and has been for some time now. Compounded with the data that this age group tolerates COVID very well, see CDC's website The Importance of Reopening America's Schools this Fall, COIVD-19 and Children https://bit.ly/2BB6z9a. As such returning students to school full-time makes sense. Regardless of the school schedule there will be cases of COVID, it's time to accept that and stop believing that if we do this or that we will prevent that from happening. The health data for this population warrants that COVID cases in k-12 not dictate in-person school. Understandably there will be some of our educators who will need accommodations. Those needs shouldn't keep students out of school. Those should be addressed individually and would be an issue whether school is in person 1 day or 5. Additionally could we look at some other changes temporarily to increase the number of in-person days per week. Perhaps only have core-curriculum classes this fall semester, putting aside every non-essential class for this period. Also utilize alternate spaces as classrooms (i.e. cafeteria, gym, auditorium) to allow for distance between more students and allow more to attend. Could some teachers who teach electives be re-deployed to instruct some of these "additional" classrooms? Any additional resources would help. I would hope we can bring the students to school at least 4 days per week with Wednesdays closed for cleaning. If transportation is an issue, I think it likely that many parents would be willing to sign up to bring their students to school themselves rather than have them at home.

If my daughter who is an ER Nurse can go to work everyday since this pandemic started (well Protected) and not get sick, then teachers should be able to handle the same. As a side k note, I come from a family full of teachers.

Send kids back 5 days/week (with separate option for 100% virtual).
HS/MS - Split by grade not alphabet, 2 in morning/2 in afternoon. Use block schedules.
Use school layout to further separate and to maintain social distancing
Allow non-seniors to drive
Have kids help sterilize between classes and sections, require masks and have cleaning supplies available.
Stagger lunches
Use Wednesday’s for Electives/Specials
Use the resources we have-especially the parents, other district plans around the country, building layouts, etc, to get to a safe, “full-time” program.

We need options 1. Go 100% in person or 2. Virtual classes according to what is best for each family. Children need to be in school.

TE Students need the option to be back in school and focusing on the 5 basics - math science English history and language . If you feel the need to minimize the number of times they change classes and interactive in group settings - Have 60 minute for each core classes - schedule a 30 minute lunch postpone study hall, electives, and health/pe..till the end of the day and have them be optional for those who would like them. While classes should be offered virturally for those who would like them , and specials, study halls etc at the end of the day where you could stay at school if you would like them. But we need to get these kids back on track. We can not stop school when kids get this virus, we need them to build the antibodies to recover from this.
