It is important for students to participate in classes that are the standard length rather than increase class times in order to have 4 classes a week back to back. I am also concerned that lack of exposure to germs will cause students to become sick and not build up adequate immunity to other germs and sicknesses.

A full school schedule needs to be honored as essential. Their mental health and well-being needs to be considered as vital as their physical health. Unless you are living a hazmat- suit life social distance will be ineffective because you are exposing yourself over and over to any number of things including COVID . Certainly if you or your family member have health needs that warrant that kind of care, you should live in accordance to those needs. we will support our students, faculty and staff with such needs. But to lock away those without such needs is irresponsible, mentally unlheathy and overreaching. Keep in mind that the CDC has only offered guidelines, but mandates. Their site is full of recommendations that communities should handle COVID, as with any health issue, as appropriate for their community.

I being a grandparent of a special needs child and another granddaughter who is main stream within the school system heading into 2nd grade, I have seen first hand the stress these children have gone through. We need to take into consideration social skills, true academic teaching., the constancy and structure a child with Autism needs on an every day basis. It is time we get these children back to a regular school year, of course taking into consideration precautions for protecting them .

Perspective: 16/40,000 COVID-19 deaths in TESD , and ZERO in the K-12 Cohort...
"K-12 children represent the lowest-risk cohort for COVID-19. Because of that fact, social distancing of children and reduced census classrooms is not necessary and therefore not recommended," the Board explained in a document published online. "Requiring children to wear masks during school is not only difficult — if not impossible to implement — but not based on science. It may even be harmful and is therefore not recommended."
The Board also cited the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) in saying that children "play a very minor role" in spreading COVID-19, and that teachers and staff are in "greater danger of infection from other adults
The Board said that Orange County's decision to close K-12 schools in March was "reasonable at the time," according to the meeting agenda, but their experts said "continuing the shutdown despite new science and data ... has been a mistake with disastrous implications for children, their families and community."

Please reconsider giving the option for full in-person school. The CDC, AAP and even Tom Wolf with the Pennsylvania Department of education Recommends opening schools. Do not make up your own rules. This can be done safely. Our kids need this, many families need this. Take a survey to see how many families would opt for in person vs virtual. The numbers may work out!!

Scientifically there is no reason to keep the school closed. Children do not spread the virus as adults do. Please inform yourself before taking mainstream thinking decisions.

If masks work as the CDC indicates then wearing them safely for five days should be safe. No four days of education for full taxes and salary.

I am in favor of in school hybrid instruction- if reproductive coefficient is within scientifically acceptable standards within district all who quarantined for 14 days should be able to go back at least 4 half days for essential core instruction with proper mask Wearing enforced for all and agreement to enroll and abide by contact tracing app. A robust virtual program should be offered. Viable day care options should be worked out for children of essential workers and single working parents and possibly other dual working households.
