Once again, the community of COE wants to make you aware oft he fact that many appartments of Collegium Oecumenicum Bamberg (dormitory) do not provide the much needed internet access and quality. This lack of proper WiFi affects our student life in several ways:
For a lot people, it is not (or just to some degree) possible to participate in lectures which are mostly taught online because of COVID-19. In order to gain the necessary internet access, many of us have to pay money for tools that improve internet acces and quality.
Many students switched to use their smartphone’s mobile data (which they have to pay money for) to cover up the lack of internet accessibility. Some Students are forced to earn their money with work from homeoffice because of COVID, while many others approach their exams in the coming months. A stable internet connection is ESSENTIAL for them.
Because of this reason, we kindly ask for a solution to this problem before 01/03/2021.

Wir möchten Sie erneut darauf aufmerksam machen Zimmer im Collegium Oecumenicum Bamberg (Studentenwohnheim) verfügen zu unserem Bedauern über einen mangelhaften Internetanschluss. Dieser Mangel beeinträchtigt die Gebrauchstauglichkeit der Wohnungen im Studentenwohnheim in erheblichem Maße.
Zurzeit können wir Studierende, gar nicht oder nur in begrenztem Ausmaß an unseren Vorlesungen und Seminaren teilnehmen, die aufgrund der COVID-19 Pandemie hauptsächlich online stattfinden. Um Zugang zum Internet zu erlangen sind viele Studierende darauf angewiesen, kostenpflichtige Zusatzprodukte zu erwerben, um die Internetqualität verbessern. Viele Studierende weichen mangels der Verfügbarkeit des Internets auf ihr kostenpflichtiges Mobiltelefon-Datenvolumen oder eigene Router aus. Berufliche Tätigkeiten, können aus dem Homeoffice heraus nur beschränkt ausgeführt werden und dadurch entstehen Umsatzeinbußen. In den kommenden Monaten werden Universitätsprüfungen auch online stattfinden.
Deshalb bitten wir Sie erneut, den dargestellten Mangel zeitnah und spätestens zum 01.03.2021 zu beheben.

Weak signals in the double rooms and in general pretty unstable and unreliable internet for online classes or work from home situations.
PLEASE!!!! I dont ask for much, but a good internet is essential in these times.
I am facing allot of problems during my online classes and online exams due to poor internet speed
pathetic internet at COE. Missed lots of classes and meeting due to internet connection issues. Please fix it as soon as possible.
Please provide better Internet for Students. Its shocking that in Times of digital learning the leadership did Not tacle it.
The Internet in the dorm is very slow.
