I am a Member and Donor, volunteer since 1987, Joe Saidy award recipient, Ambassador Award recipient, actor, choreographer, usher, theatre instructor, former house manager - now "patron liaison," ran lights, sound, crew, props, wrote copy for the programs, helped with costumes and assisted in the box office, taught CPR to staff and volunteers, and other tasks as needed. I am disheartened by the lack of transparency by the Civic Theatre board in recent times, especially related to the budget, bylaws, minutes, and how board members are chosen. A system of checks and balances is needed to oversee the Civic Theatre's resources and the staff needs effective recourse when encountering personnel issues and difficulties with the executive director which is currently lacking.

I have been involved in The Civic for the last 2 years as a volunteer. Most of my interaction has been with Greg Miller, who has made my experience very enjoyable and he always made it clear to all involved that we were appreciated. But, each time I volunteered it became increasingly apparent that there was unrest among other volunteers and staff. I hope this letter will bring about some positive changes for The Civic.
