I pray every day that our dear bishops will courageously teach the beauty of marriage as a covenant instituted by God!

Our practice of NFP was not easy, but it certainly got us talking and praying together even more. My husband and I will soon celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.

NFP only strengthens marriages, we learned the hard way about doing what was "up to date" and found our marriage only in a world of hurt. Once we accepted the church teachings, and had a vasectomy reversed, did our marriage and intimacy increase. Do not change the position, do not let people fool you into thinking it is hurtful to marriages.

Flannery O'Connor once called the Church's teaching on birth control, "the most spiritual of all her teachings." That is because it concerns what man fundamentally requires: Love. And this love becomes diminished when it is divorced from the truth about man. Sin can never bring about authentic happiness and the joy promised in the Gospel. Let us all take the time to rediscover the truth about married love and to live the call to personal holiness. Thank you, Pope Paul VI for your witness to the truth and pastoral care.

Follow Gen 3:16-20 faithfully and trust God wants only good for us, and then there is resurrection. The strengthened marriage bond is exactly what God knew was needed. But it looks like folly.

The moral teachings of the Church are a blessing, even if we don't always see them as such.

Jesus Himself told us that the road to everlasting life is narrow and challenging…the road to perdition is wide and easy…Which road are you going to take, dear Bishops? That indeed is the question@
