An absolute disgrace

I am sure that these decisions are always difficult. However, having a sense of agency in the process is crucial.

This organisation is part of the roots of Scottish Theatre. Loss of funding causing it's collapse is another death nail in the heart of theatre.

A shocking decision which will impact not only on the talent of our country, but also on their social and emotional development.

The decision to axe funding to Scotland's most respected and established youth theatre is stupidity in the extreme. This action trashes forty years of work to underpin Scottish Theatre. Many of todays top practitioners in all areas of the industry started with this company. The repercussions of discontinuing this source of emerging talent are incalculable not only to theatre film and television but also to education. I urge the Government to act promptly to reverse this decision and host a complete overhaul of Creative Scotland which continues not only to disappoint but to make the arts community completely and utterly depressed and undervalued.

I'm a writer - short stories, poetry and work for the theatre, so the decision to cut funding for the NYT is very vexing.

As a Drama teacher I am incredibly disappointed that an institution who has helped and supported so many young young people all across Scotland has been deemed not worthy of further funding. Please reconsider!

My two daughters benefited hugely from going to the SYT classes when they were younger. They gained in confidence and creativity. I am shocked and hugely saddened that it is to close because of lack of funding. We need more creativity in Scotland, not less.
