I am a Drama Teacher within East Renfrewshire and I’m disappointed that an institution which has inspired so many young people is being disregarded this way.

More input from those in the 'front line' needed.

As a retired Drama teacher I can name many many young who for years have benefitted greatly from SYT. To lose this organisation is to lose a something that we as a country can be proud.

SYT is one of the most important cultural facets for our young people in Scotland. How on earth can this be proposed in the year of the young people!

I have just had an email from SYT to say that they are ceasing taiding from 31st July 2018 due to CS funding cuts. This can not happen to Scotland's children's theatre! What hope is there for our creative young people if this devistating news is allowed to be played out?

It is clear that if there is to be funding of the arts by government, then the decisions as to what and whom to fund must be informed by clear and transparent principles. I welcome the formation of a National Arts Forum to help to articulate such principles, which may have been obscured by bureaucratism in the past.

Writer, Stuckist, former adviser to a previous Culture secretary. Time to devolve both funding and curatorial control down to practitioners at local level. Base expenditure on per head and geographic basis. Leave big events under Visit Scotland care as the exist for marketing reasons opposed to cultural...
