Our children need both the education and socialization! Older fearful teachers should elect to remain home. Please push back on the State.

My children go to St. Patrick’s in Carlsbad and feel we should have the right to choose whether They return to school in person. I am 100% on board with re-opening school, if the parent chooses to send their child. The teachers, staff and administration have done everything to protect the children and themselves to abide by all the rules and regulations.

Bishop, please look at the "big picture" of your decision to keep our schools closed. You are causing far more harm than realistic advantages. Look at the facts, not the ideology!

We are new to St. Michael’s this year coming from the public school. My son is so excited to start! As parents we were so impressed with our tour and how much early attention to safe guarding the students and staff from plexi glass desks to recently added touch-less faucets! It breaks my heart to know that so many schools have depleted their already small budgets to come into compliance with the litany of regulations our governor has put into place...only to have the carpet pulled out from underneath them at the 11th hour! Part of the reason we chose St. Michael’s was because of how pro active they were being early in the summer to problem solved and think outside the box so the kids could go back in person. The public schools we knew would be scrambling due to red tape, politics and unions! So it really broke my heart to hear that politics would play a role in private schools too despite trying to get away from that! I feel strongly that schools should at least be able to start in person and see how it goes! If it goes badly we can resume distance learning but to not even try? I feel it is a bad message to send our kids too that we’re giving up before even giving it the old college try! Furthermore, there are two options being offered to students and teachers so no one has to make a choice for their families that they’re not comfortable with! Win-win!
