It was said by someone close to this situation (who shall be un named), "regardless, we need to still honor these leaders." I strongly disagree. Leadership who perpetuate abuse and then re traumatize victims by devaluing them by protecting the organization hide behind this 'honor.' It shields them from ever being held accountable or having to repent or apologize. This idea comes from "touch not the Lord's anointed" which is a blasphemous and incorrect use of that scripture.

The extant culture of Foursquare that allows abuse to continue and be swept under a rug must be addressed head on. Truth tellers have to stop being persecuted for doing what is right. There is no going forward for an organization or individual unless the current and past disfunction is addressed. It will be a long, courageous, painstakingly blessed process. Lord make it so.

I wholeheartedly concur and support the sentiments & admonition of this letter. We have not received the support req d for the Council for Unity Restoration & Engagement in which this endeavor would address this type of concern & abuse among others experiencing similar discriminatory and preditory behavior from Foursquare leadership.

All 3 of my sisters suffered sexual misconduct at the hands of a Foursquare pastor who was not dealt with because they didn’t want to take away his position and/or means of supporting his family, tarnishing his reputation. I left Foursquare years ago but gladly sign knowing Foursquare s long history of ignoring this behavior.

I love my Foursquare family and I ALSO am calling leaders to accountability saying the time to shield leaders from the consequences of their sin is up. No more being protected by connections. We must act faster.

I am disgusted by the delay and excuses. Enough sweeping under the carpet, enough pushing this off on the victims - enough covering toxic patriarchy. I demand action.

It’s been 7 years and my life is still greatly affected by the experience that I had at Ignite. It is truly by God’s grace and redemption that I did not give up my relationship with Jesus and am able to begin healing from the brokenness that was caused.

Sorry to see that Heidi not only had to deal with the abuse from a trusted leader, but also the abuse of neglect from Foursquare leadership. As a former Foursquare minister and fellow alumni, I hope this is a catalyst for change for Foursquare. Praying for you Heidi, Jim, and rest of the family

I am saddened to hear how far Foursquare has fallen as a denomination. I grew up in a Foursquare church and up until recently when Huey Hudson showed he did not care about the church but just his personal agenda and advancement. I have had to look for another church to try and heal in. It's time Foursquare got there act together and do the right thing.
