The inclination to gather around to support the perp in these situations rather than the victim of the abuse is utterly revolting and jeopardizes the perceived integrity of the organization as a whole, as well as discourages engagement with the faith it represents. This situation again exemplifies the all too common circumstance of the victim having further costs (emotionally, financially, spiritually) perpetually exacted SO the perpetrator of these abuses can be shielded and their colleagues in power can enjoy their control and privileges even at the expense of integrity and justice. Utterly shameful -- and sadly unsurprising. Props to Heidi for her bravery and gratitude to her and others for the immense efforts and costs invested in exposing abuse that reached much further than her and will likely continue to reach further still due to the inaction of those in power to pull the levers they are too cowardly to pull.

For those who may say "What about Matthew 18?" This is us "telling the church" because they STILL have not listened - Foursquare leadership chose this outcome.

It's an honor to support this petition. I stand with Heidi and the numerous other victims of abuse in our movement.
