i am disgusted with the israel lobby's infestation in canada... controls the media, the sports media, the school board, big businesses like nestle and loreal...all ZIONIST. israel itself is antisemitic claiming to represent world Jewry. The school board is disgusting and the lobby groups manipulate the holocaust to push their disgusting and barbaric zionist agenda.

Once again shameful behaviour by my former employer. The pharisees are hard at work leading the Dufferin Peel Corporate District School Board. The boards actions are not in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ. Do the right thing and re-instate Ms. Shoufani

Time to invite B'nai Brith and The Friends of Simon Weisenthal to vacate the public stage while they still have some shreds of reputability left.

I will add this to my signature: the issue being protested/contested is so complex that I am skeptical of anyone who claims to "know it all" or have the "true" story of what is going on. Based on what I know - of the larger conflict and this situation in particular - I am happy to lend my support to Ms. Shoufani. More to the point, the government and the various lobbyist toadies who line their pockets (and vice versa) would do well to respect the basic human and legal rights of teachers to act as full citizens in their non-teaching time. Full stop. Attacks on one of our colleagues for specious reasons because one (more often than not, religious) lobby or another is upset that any teacher, anywhere, would exercise their rights? Preposterous. And dangerous. Shame on the groups here, the spineless board of 'education' (ha!) and the witless governments all all political stripes who have been in charge of education for the entirety of my teaching career.

stop the attacks against freedom of speech! where is the outrage for a brutal occupation, confiscation of lands and horrendous human rights violations! And I too applaud Ms. Shoufani for her courage to speak truth to power!

If you have been to the West Bank, Gaza and Israel youwould realize that things are a little different than purported to be by the Zionist Lobby
Suffice to say that Israel is giving Jews a bad name all over the world.

The Dufferin-Peel Catholic School Division owes Ms Shoufani , students and parents in its district an apology for this crass response to the absurd protests from B'Nai Brith.

As more and more people speak up about Israel's flagrant disregard for the rights and dignity of Palestinians, the attacks by Zionists grow ever more vicious. Ms. Shoufani has every right to act and speak as a private citizen for justice and human rights without the state interfering. This is 21st century McCarthyism. I call on the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board to reinstate Nadia Shoufani and not to give in to the bullying of two organizations that definitely do not speak for this Jewish person or for all Jews, for that matter.

The tactics of the Board are alarming. Ms. Shoufani only found out what was happening when people who had read the B'nai Brith press release. Something is rotten it seems in the state of Ontario education. The tactics used are to try to silence those of us who advocate for international law and human rights for Palestinians. I completely support all in this letter, and will continue to step forward until there is just peace for Palestinians.

OECTA has actively supported the people of Palestine for some time, and opposes apartheid in Gaza/Israel. Social justice is everyone's concern and this teacher simply spread the word. The actions of the Catholic School Board toward this teacher are reprehensible.

It's not an opinion that Israel needs to end its occupation but a fact. How that is expressed is irrelevant to the fact.

Surely Ms. Shoufani has, as every Canadian has, her right to freedom of association and free speech. Constitutionally, this is a given. That she has used such to promote social justice and fight oppression is laudatory.

The school board, and the press, should know better than to take B'nai Brith's word for anything without checking. They used to be a civil liberties organization, but now they are nothing but shills for Israel. Ditto the Wiesenthal Centre.
I am old enough, just, to remember Joseph McCarthy. Is this deja vu all over again?
