Under Charter rights, Ms. Shoufani has the right to freedom of speech. But also, we need the courage to recognize the reality of what life is like for Palestinians, and to be able to challenge the unlawful actions of the state of Israel without recrimination.

The actions of the DP School Board are totally outrageous in a democratic free society. Israel is guilty of so many war crimes and abuses of international law, she should be commended for supporting justice and morality. Again shame on the School Board.

I strongly oppose the suspension of Nadia Shoufani for speaking out against the crimes of Israeli government at the rally. This suspension infringes on the Charter right of all Canadians to freedom of expression.

Ms. Shoufani surely has a strong case to sue her accusers for defamation, those in the media that acted in concert with them, and the school board for unlawful suspension from her job.
