Thank you for taking the lead on this critical issue at this very important moment. Climate change is one of the most important issues of our time.

I strongly endorse COTE's letter. Architects must lead the demand that our government meet all of the commitments made on behalf of our planet and our built environment. The stakes are sky-high, and there is no other choice.

We cannot be silent nor accept denial when the well being of our citizens, our nation and our planet is at risk.

This is our mission, not a petition.

Thank you for saying what remained unsaid in Robert Ivy's letter. There is no issue as pressing as the environment for the profession to confront, and continue to confront, no matter the passing vagaries of politics.

We must stay on our path towards complete green building strategies and zero effect earth stewardship...

If our leaders (pres-elect), won't lead the way we want it's up to us to set examples locally and within specialized organizations such as the AIA to create the world we want. Obviously we can't leave this up to others.

Thank you COTE for continuing to provide leadership and a broader moral framework for our work! We need to continue building on the great work that has happened over the last two decades.

Thank-you, COTE! Certain things should have been said in the post-election statement. What a lost opportunity for AIA to represent their membership and advocate for an agenda that our President-Elect has promised to attack.

Part of the architect's ethical responsibility to the public includes our responsibility to create and advocate for more sustainable architecture.

This is a positive step to reestablish positive values in the AIA. Our professional purpose, to design ways in which humankind can inhabit this planet in a sustainably healthy way, has never been more important.

Despite all the post election divisiveness, we need a planet that can sustain us all. The progress we've made in the last 8 years cannot be erased. The world has finally seen that WE, the United States, accept responsibility for the impacts of our industry and lifestyle on the health of our planet and are willing to contribute to a collective, global solution. Please, Trump administration and architects, don't turn back the clock.

Architects have been leading to a preferred future for communities and our planet for many years. The evidence that our work is having a great impact in terms of energy, water, air quality and more is well documented. Not to be over looked is the impact on the bottom line of our clients who have reduced their operating costs and increased the productivity and happiness of their employees as result of embracing sustainable design principals. We must continue this work, future generations will determine if we have been good ancestors based on our actions today.
