The fact that we are already having budget meetings give my the refusal of Dr. Joseph to provide a full budget is absurd. The duty and responsibility of the School Board is to provide oversight of MNPS; that is impossible based on what has been presented to date. We are either dealing with incompetence in the part of the MNPS budgeting team and leadership, or intensional lack of transparency. In either case it is completely unacceptable.

And don't forget about pre k! The proposed budget is moving to sliding scale payments, which will make the formerly free program out of reach for most middle income families!

The board needs to stand up to authority and demand less standardized testing. Not only does it cost millions of dollars annually, but it is developmentally inappropriate and harmful to our kids.
