I find it deplorable that as a company you promote community inclusion and mindfulness through selling locally grown, fair trade, and/or organic produce, yet let a toxic human remain on the board. I feel that whoever is in charge of this needs to have a backbone and make an example out of this situation. Its 2020, there is no space for intolerance, racism, or any other ism. We all need to do our best job to grow and evolve. By allowing this man to remain a part of your organization you give the impression that you're okay with this behavior. You should know by now that people vote with their money. Many businesses are being called out and held accountable for this kind of b.s. I sincerely hope that yall come to your senses and oust this dead weight human from your business. Thank you!

These requests to assure employees and member owners feel safe and comfortable in OH is not a lot. The Board and GM's complicity and indifference to such concerns speaks volumes about where they stand with the most vulnerable people in the community. I will not be renewing my member ownership until these requests have been fulfilled. I stand in solidarity with the employees and community members of OH.

I've asked to have my signature removed from this petition which I signed in haste. It reads like a personal vendetta which loses validity, in my opinion. I've never known Ross Brockley to be racist. Conversations about context need to happen as well as listening to each other rather than making assumptions and using very harmful labels. Let's hear all sides, first. We are stronger together.

I don't blame anyone for signing this petition. I would sign it if I thought it was true.
Everything I learned about World War II and the Holocaust I learned from a jewish friend and two jewish authors. My favorite website is hosted by a jew in Israel. Learning of another possible reading of those events gave me hope and I talked about it with people. I talk about the jews because I have high expectations of them. I told an audience in Omaha a few years ago that
American Jews are the best chance for peace in the world and I still believe that. Tikkun Olam.

I am sad this has occurred...the behavior of this board member has me saddened and left me with a feeling similar to being a "part" of a sickness I have taught against for over 50 years. I am an mother of recently adopted children ages 7,5,4 and 3. I've even taken them in there with me. I'm just sick.

I love Open Harvest to death, but the current board and management both have not done nearly enough to protect their employees and the community from intolerant ideas and actions. I hope the BODs and the GM start to take accountability for their hand in this and show some REAL transparency. Otherwise, they are simply complicit with these egregious remarks and behaviors (from Brockley and number of problematic customers & former staff members). Changes MUST be made for the sake of the general public and well-being of the level 1 workers that truly turn the gears that run the co-op. No more excuses, deflection, manipulation, or interrogation from select higher-ups. This is a matter of human rights. OH needs to nurture a more diverse environment that welcomes and uplifts BIPOC and LGBTQ+ people and that does not tolerate any form of abuse of power or individual rights. Again, I love Open Harvest.. I reall really do... and it is devastating to see them fail to promote their supposed core principles. It seems as though some serious structural reform is needed ASAP. I am disappointed.
