The current shutdown of Capital Hills is unacceptable. As a safe and socially distant activity, the course should be packed, and by not opening, the City of Albany is losing not only much needed revenue for 2020, but loyal customers who will take their business elsewhere this season, and beyond.

It cost x amount of money to maintain a golf course regardless if you use it or not open it and recoup as much revenue as you can . Give the taxpayer something for his buck.

I don't understand why ALL the other muny courses can open ( Guilderland, Colonie, etc) and Albany is the only one who cannot? Makes no sense.

After 3 years recovering from injuries, I was so looking forward to golfing again at Capital Hills with my league. I live only a half mike away, so another course is not that convenient. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love and appreciate Capital Hills. Isn’t there anything city residents like me can do to help keep this course oriented?

I am confident that the Common Council and Mayor Sheehan can work diligently to open up the golf course. Parks and recreational areas are necessary during this time. Please don’t let this gem of a golf course sit idle. If Capital Hills does not generate enough revenue, then it is imperative the city changes the way it does business. Every other municipality has figured out how to run a successful golf course. Reach out to them for advice if the city leaders can’t figure out a way to make it work.

City residents deserve Capital hills golf course to be open. For the taxes they pay, how about giving them some value. God knows the taxes are outrageous and something should be done at City Hall to correct this rather than ignore it, like they have been doing to the City landfill for years.
