Please open Brownies Beach

I'm not positive but I think the Open Space Money might be part of why they had to open the marina up to MD residents and not just in town.

I pay for this in state taxes I should be able to use it. If they receive funding through the county or state or if this property was bought with project open space money than they can’t charge 18 dollars for non city people to use. Take the funding and take the property.

Hoping the route to entry is the funding they receive. If they receive certain funding they have to open it up.

I used to go there until they set up a table with a group that prevented you from accessing beach or pay 18 dollars. If they are receiving county and state funding it should be taken away. If the property was bought with open space money it is not theirs nots state money.

The first excuse was a supposed safety hazard on another beach and then the excuse was Covid and safety hazard of people being in crowds of more than 6-10 people. If that was the case, the waterpark that is made of concrete and water deep enough to drown would not have people packed in it like sardines. If there was an emergency, explosion, gun fire or something that caused people to panic it would be a horrific scene. People would get seriously hurt and possibly die trying to evacuate the enclosed gated area. I've fallen on concrete at my community pool and it wasn't fun. I can't imagine being in a bathing suit and falling down on concrete and being trampled on by the large crowd of people in the water park at one time.

Depending upon tax dollars, there could be no fee.

anyone should be allowed, charge a flat fee if needed.

The town makes more money off one gambling addict in a day than your family and friends will spend all year so they really don't care. It's sad.

Brownies Bayfront Park should be open to all visitors. My family has been enjoying Calvert Cliffs since the 1930's.

I'm a resident of Baltimore County, and I used to visit Brownie's Beach multiple times per year to hunt for fossils at Brownie's Beach, and after leaving the beach I would spend money in local restaurants. I would also take people from out of town (and sometimes out of the country, as I have friends that visit from Canada) to visit as well. Since they closed it off, I haven't visited. Between my circle of friends, we would usually spend a couple of grand in the area every year.. now I don't spend anything locally, and I can no longer partake in one of my favorite hobbies.

Maryland residents can now use the town marina for free. You can launch your boat or kayak or you can rent a kayak, boat, jet ski etc. at the marina and legally go to Brownies thanks to the town marina and watercraft rentals. There are actually sharks teeth on the shore near Centerville in creeks, just look for gravel.

In Queen Anne’s County where I live we give beach access to out of county residents. Particularly Terrapin Park and Matapeake Beach. The fees Brownies Beach charges used to be quite terrible but at least we could visit. I find it a shame that we share our beaches yet I can’t go over there to enjoy my favorite hobby. I used to spend many hundreds of dollars a year of $ in Chesapeake Beach area. Now I avoids it.

What their doing seems illegal based on Maryland law

Open brownies please!

First it closed because of the supposed cliff fall that was a fiasco the end of Jan. 2020. Then Covid was an excuse to keep it closed to anyone but in town residents. They should be required to give at least the people at Randle Cliff a right of way to access the beach since it is their beach and not Brownies.

Please restore my riparian rights to Bayfront Park. Thank You

Calvert County resident!

I've been waiting for this for 30+ years .as a teenager we used to have a wonderful day on this waterfront and I'd love nothing better than to take my children & grandchildren there.

Open it back up.
