Open Brownies Bayfront Park

I live and pay taxes to Calvert County and I should be allowed to use Brownies Beach. It was opened in the past to county residents for a fee, just like North Beach and Calvert Cliffs and it should be open again. The horse shoe crabs are an important part of our ecosystem and need to be protected

I love walking my dog here on our daily walks. But can't once workers come in daily in the summer. Ridiculous..

We have so much water and no access for residents. Open Brownie Beach to residents.

Open the parks so we can save horseshoe crabs!!!

I strongly believe that access to the beach needs to be granted. Please open it back up.

Please reopen the beach to the public. Charge fees, like Breezy Point does. Make some extra money and make some out of towners happy. Thanks.

Im a fossil hunter and would love to see it open back up to the public, and I’m sure there’s way to monitor out of town people

I am a fossil collector and only want to collect during off season.

I chose my house because it is so close to Bay Front Park. I used to walk there since 2003 and now I'm locked out because I live in Randles Cliff. I used to pick up a lot of trash there because i love nature. There is not much public access left, to the Bay. So we are citizens second class?

Really miss visiting, beachcombing. Always respectful of the cliffs. Always patronized businesses when in the area, so they're missing out.

I had the opportunity to Visit this beach years ago with my kids when they were small.

I am an avid fossil hunter and a member of many fossil hunting sites. I am also a resident of Calvert County. I never leave trash and often pick up trash on my way out of the fossil hunting sites I go to. I am 100 Percent disabled vet and it is my therapy to unwind and relax by fossil hunting along various parts of Calvert Cliffs. Bayfront Park/Brownies is very sentimental to me. My uncle first took me out there to introduce me to the beauty and Joy of fossil hunting. He has since passed away, but I have such fond memories. He taught me the importance of leaving the beach in better condition than you found it, being kind to others and the phenomenal history of Calvert and the Miocene Era of the cliffs. I take the upmost caution everytime I go out, I will never dig into the cliffs and will let the Calvert Marine Museum know if there is any significant fossil that is sticking out of the cliffs. I also have the number to the Department of Natural Resources to call if I see any animal in distress while fossil hunting. I am aware of the laws when it comes to fossil hunting in Maryland and obey by them. I agree with what others have mentioned about the inherent dangers of boating , kayaking or jet skiing to access areas that are off limits to walk into. I have seen many times how the Bay can change on a dine and go from very calm to white caps in a matter of hours. Inexperienced boaters can either get trapped on sand dunes during especially low tides to not being able to make it back safely, (especially kayakers) when the weather and the tides turn. I do agree that these means if accessing the beaches, private or not is permissible and lawfull under Maryland law. Unfortunately it is not fair to those of us that do not have boats. I wanted to buy a kayak to access this beach in particular but my wife was adamant about the dangers on the Bay. I humbly beg the leaders and the community to please grant us die hard fossil hunters access to the parking area at Brownies, access

I havent spent any time or money in Chesapeake Beach since they closed Brownie Beach

It's about time we get our childhood memories back.

The town is discriminating against all of us outside of the town and apparently doesn't want our money in their town either by keeping us off the beach. Reopen!

I’ve lived in Calvert County for over 30 years for more than 20 years. I took my children down to Brownies Beach.. then Chesapeake Beach decided to close it off and not allow anybody other than residence there I agree we should have access to this speech same as we should to North Beach without paying extra charges because our taxes help keep these beaches up as part of Maryland
