Ontario MDs Concerned about Cuts

Should be putting more into Health Care.----Please!

There is no way the physicians are backing down now. The Liberals made the mistake of making one too many cuts.

I am deeply concerned about the state of our healthcare from the aftermath of these cutbacks.

We value our doctors who always do their outmost for their patients.

Our system is already so slow when you need a doctor. Soon we won't have any incentives to be a doctor unless you live in another country.

On bonuses for PanAm executives, the Premier defends them by saying they are general practice for such events. Well, Ms. Premier, is it general practice for physicians to work for free?

Don't understand why the government does not have enough money to fund physician billing despite the McWynne Fiberal contraption called the "Health Premium" which "wealthy" Ontarians (such as physicians) must pay as part of income tax. Suspect the money goes to the general revenue stream to fund boondoggles like eHealth, Oakville power plant, and bonuses for PanAm executives. Too bad the McWynne lackey called ICES fails to conduct a study into where that money goes.

I will be one of the ones who retires...

As a fellow health care practitioner, I support my medical colleagues in Ontario.

I work hard in a rural community and this government is making me feel undervalued and unappreciated. I feel like they are taking my services for granted (which I am sure my patients are not). Democracy should be negotiation and discussion, not imposing changes.

How many MDs will leave Ontario/Canada or retire due to this unacceptable unilateral behaviour? Of course, this is what the Ontario Government wants; to have Nurse Practitioners run medicine in Ontario. Getting more like the Russian system every day. And no respect whatsoever for Physicians or patients.

I thought I was living in a democratic province, but the way the Wynne government is functioning, it worse then worst dictatorship

Health is the most important quality in a persons life. Don't cut doctor's pay. They earn every penny with their hard work and caring.

This will once again make a huge impact on our healthcare system. We need to stand up and take action to keep our Doctors in Canada, with more cutbacks, we are going to lose some great doctors and jobs, patients will suffer because of this action

Totally unjust action on the part of the government.

This situation is really untenable. We need to respond to government imposed cutbacks as early as possible. I agree with job action and public awareness campaigns.

The repeated fee cuts devalue our profession and our best efforts as we strive hard to assist our patients.

It's mindboggling to see how the OMA continues to be utterly feckless while having the chutzpah to collect dues from us with the backing of Rand. Does it have no sense of shame?

The continued (most likely willful) utter incompetence of the OMA is beyond belief. According to the OMA, prior to all these cuts and pending clawbacks, we are already paid only 50% of what we are worth. Just for this abject failure, the OMA should resign en masse. Yet the government keeps feeding the public nonsense such as Ontario doctors "make" $300K on average and they are already the best paid in the country. Has the OMA seen these figures that the government keeps citing? Even if the figures are legit, so what? Can't the OMA counter this half-truth by its own study which takes into account the immense differences in the cost of living and running a practice across the country which I'm sure will show we are not the best paid, not by a long shot, at least in the Toronto area.

I am deeply disappointed by my government’s unwillingness to engage physicians in a constructive conversation about these cut backs.
