These clawbacks need to come to an end. The Liberals are taking advantage of us and our position to not strike which would abandon our patients whom we care for greatly!

Hopefully the OMA management read the comments here as well because they need to know that the OMA has appeared weak and ineffective for the past 5-6 years. Getting caught by surprise at every step and mounting a half-hearted response that goes nowhere.
It needs to shift its focus away from selling insurance and concentrate on performing its primary duty, which is to provide strong representation for Ontario physicians.
I am joining Doctors Ontario this year.

As busy as ER is already the cuts will only worsen wait times as patients are less able to get in with the family docs because there own family docs don't have the resources to stay open longer.

I feel that the goverment should consider physicians when making cutts to the health care system as they have a unique understanding about the limitations and strenghts in the system and may be able to help with appropriate cutt that will not harm pt care.

I demand action by the OMA to defend my rights as an individual through a direct court challenge and feel that the Canada Health Act violates the basic personal freedoms of Doctors as citizens to choose who we want to work for.

It is unfortunate that the MOH has been publicly deceptive and paint physicians as adversaries rather than advocates of patient health & interests. Patients have the right to be educated on the truth regarding the motives and consequences of unilateral government cuts. We physicians as a collective body must do more to educate our patients and the public on these concerns, taking more drastic measures if necessary.

Apathy or no apathy, it's the OMA's responsibility to fight for the rights of Ontario Doctors. That's why we pay them, isn't it?

I will sign this as the OMA is the only voice we have but I feel they have failed us in dramatic fashion. If they do not start to effectively represent us, the next petition should be to find other representation, have OMA leaders replaced, and/or renegotiate our fees.

As a medical student these cuts are making me seriously consider moving away from Ontario for residency and practice in the future.

The time to talk is past. We need real action. We need public education and to get them concerned. Until the population thinks it is a problem the government won't care. Also we need to start the legal process NOW. This is not legal.
