My boyfriend lives in NY City. I know how to get there. But Philly is on everybody's mind, including mine. It should be on the signs too.

Philly has a population of 1.563 million and is growing! The metro area is quickly approaching 6 million. Give us a sign.

Philadelphia, birthplace of US democracy and beacon of light for modern democratic societies the world over shouldn't be an afterthought like this. Plenty of room on the sign to name, what is and was the East Coast's 2nd largest city.

Where did the "rule" that at most two cities could be listed on a highway sign? This is stupid, but if it is the case,
there is no reason not to mention Wilmington and then Philadelphia, and leave NY out of it until you leave Philadelphia. As someone who was initiated to freeway driving in southern California, I have wanted to send whoever makes the highway signs in the mid-Atlantic to California to learn how to do it....They list as many upcoming exits as will fit on a sign, in the order they come up, with the miles to each.....all along the freeway. A person knows exactly what's coming up long before they get to it, and no signs to major cities----or even minor ones----are first announced near the exit. Philadelphia needs to be on the signs on I-95 and 676, but so do many other places on all the highways in the region.

My husband and I visit D.C. quite a bit, and this irks on every trip home. Could it be that Baltimore has a little bit of an inferiority complex when it comes to Philly?

Should have been addressed a long time ago! Philly is not second class to New York.

I moved to Philly in 1998, and I also find the signage on I-95 that just pretends the Philadelphia does not exist insulting and misleading. I first time I drove north from D.C. I wondered for a minute whether I'd accidentally gotten onto a bypass that did stop in Philly. It's not just on I-95---if you are in NJ on 676, you will see signs that lead would lead you to Philadelphia that instead just say they are to "Camden" until close to the exit.

Just wrong that a road sign on a major highway ignores the 5th largest city. Needs to be corrected.

I, too have noticed the lack of highway signage on I-95 north bound out of, Balitmore leading towards, Philadelphia. If only two cities at a time can adorn a highway sign,then States should be required to post them in the order. After all, everyone's tax dollars are involved.
