Team Inspire are working towards a community project which is looking into key issues of day to day teenage life, focusing on graffiti. We have set this petition up to work towards introducing graffiti walls around Chesterfield for people to express their love of art on a wall dedicated to it, rather than buildings around your area making it look scruffy and unpleasant. By signing this petition you are helping us to clean up our community together by reducing the amount of illegal and harmful graffiti, and helping us to teach people how to appreciate graffiti as an art form and just another way of human expression.

I was walking around town earlier thinking about how much potential these blank walls really have if we just gave people a place to actually spray paint without the stress of someone chasing them off. My head is constantly spinning with ideas for where we could put them and honestly hearing back from some of you makes me realize I am totally not the only one obsessed with seeing this change happen soon.

I am a 14 year old boy who is really into tagging etc and tbh I think that me and my friends need a place to express our graffiti legally and not Damaging property.
Community needs art. Don't criminalize budding artists. Give them the space to create!! Blessings be!
Think it's a fantastic idea for there to be a dedicated area. There's not enough in chesterfield for teenagers to do.
Graffiti art is a constructive way of engaging young people in caring for and enhancing their environment. It can channel pride, creativity and a sense of collective good amongst young people who may otherwise feel marginalised. Please let the aspirations of this group flourish.
There's a negative stigma about graffiti and I think that It's important that we project the idea that it's a very expressive and creative activity
thats not fair. make art not buildings. empty buildings are boring but not art. stop illegal graffiti.

I think that graffiti is an amazing skill and it looks gorgeous when done correctly, Chesterfield definitely needs more walls so people can show their artistic skills. My friend at school really inspires me with his passion for graffiti. More walls needed!
